Striker gets off the mark for Luton and eyes a first team return
Paul Peschisolido came off the bench to hit his first goal for Luton on Tuesday night and then pleaded 'don't just call me a super sub'!
The 36-year-old, back after an ankle injury, came on as a second-half substitute in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy tie against Northampton Town.
And he proved he has lost none of his striking instinct by smashing home the second goal in a 2-0 win with his first touch in the 48th minute.
Speaking afterwards he said: "It was nice to get a run out; I enjoyed it. And yes it was my first touch when I scored.
"I have a habit of doing that after coming off the bench but not that I really want to say that because it ends up putting things in people's minds!"
While only his first for Luton, the strike was his 137th career goal after spells at the likes of Birmingham, West Brom, Fulham, QPR, Sheffield United and Derby County.
The striker explained: "I've been carrying a niggle for the last few weeks and thought I could get away with it, but I needed to get it sorted out.
"I went away last week and had a few injections and I feel good now. I'm back in training and looking forward to firing in many more goals.
Peschisolido, along with fellow experienced pro Paul Furlong, will be doing his bit to help off the field as well as on it with words of advice to Town's youngsters.
"Hopefully with the likes of Furls and myself around we can give the younger players advice that will ensure they'll have a great future. We can pull them aside and talk to them about certain things.
