Match Stats - Fulham v Everton 27.08.05

last updated Friday 26th August 2005, 8:20 AM
Big match facts from BBCSport FULHAM have made their worst ever start to a Premiership campaign, and are seeking a first victory of the season against an Everton side, unable to qualify for the Champions League group stages, but eager to record back-to-back Premiership victories.
  • An opening day goalless draw against Birmingham in their last home game is Fulham's only point thus far. They welcome the Merseysiders anxious to avoid three top flight losses on the spin, following the odd goal in three reverse at Blackburn and a 4-1 pasting by Arsenal at Highbury on Wednesday. The Londoners last lost three on the trot in December when they closed out the year with no points from the possible nine. Victory over Everton, would bring the Cottagers' Premiership points tally to exactly 100 since Chris Coleman was permanently appointed manager.
  • All eight of the Premiership fixtures between these clubs have resulted in home wins. Fulham scored two goals in each of their four home victories over Everton. Three of the quartet have been by 2-0 margins, including the one last April when cracking first half goals from Collins John and Brian McBride earned the points against a below par Toffees side.
  • Last lost three consecutive Premiership games between 20 and 28 December, against Charlton (2-1 a), Arsenal (2-0 a) and Birmingham (2-3 h).
  • Kept three clean sheets in the last four home top flight games.
  • Tomasz RADZINSKI and Mark PEMBRIDGE are former Everton players, while Brian McBRIDE has been on loan to the Toffees from Columbus Crew.
  • Luis BOA MORTE is a hat trick shy of scoring 50 goals for Fulham.
  • If he plays, PEMBRIDGE will be making his 50th appearance for the Cottagers.
EVERTON must be content with a Uefa Cup campaign, following the midweek disappointment against Villarreal in the Champions League qualifier. Manager David Moyes was pleased with the application of his players in Spain and is hoping they build on last weekend's 0-1 victory at Bolton to bag their 50th Premiership victory in his tenure.
  • The single goal success at the Reebok ended a four-game losing run in League and Cup, spanning last season. The Toffees last bagged successive victories in the top League in April.
  • The Goodison Park club are searching for a first point in six top flights visits to Fulham. They last got something from a trip to the west London club 39 years ago, winning 0-1 on 20 August 1966.
  • Aiming for six points out of six at Goodison for the first time since beating Crystal Palace and Manchester United on 10 and 20 April respectively, when five unanswered goals were scored.
  • Duncan FERGUSON is a double short of 100 career goals in English and Scottish League football.
  • If he plays, David WEIR will be making his 200th Premiership appearance for Everton.
  • If involved, Alessandro PISTONE will be making his 150th career Premiership appearance (Newcastle and Everton).
