Luis Boa Morte, fresh from scoring
that vital winner at Norwich on Bank holiday Monday ran riot during
the first 45 minutes and it was he who had a hand in all four
Fulham goals.
At the vital moment Boa Morte
slipped the ball sideways to Cornwall who made no mistake from 6
yards out.
Five minutes later Fulham doubled
the lead. A neat one-two and a back heal from Boa Morte found
Kevin Betsy who unselfishly set up Paul Trollope to hammer home
from close range.
On 33 minutes Boa Morte saw a good
long-range effort go close before he finally scored a goal for
himself that was so richly deserved.
Fabrice Fernandes, another star
of the first half, supplied Boa Morte with a simple but inch perfect
ball and that was dispatched with consummate ease by the Portuguese
striker who cannot stop scoring at the moment.
Half Time: Fulham 3 Peterborough
United 0
The second period started at a
slower pace than the first, but it wasn’t long before Fulham extended
their lead even further.
On 50 minutes a Boa Morte run down
the left hand side ended with a superb pass right into the stride
of the on rushing Trollope who didn’t have to break his stride
as he smashed home Fulham’s 4th.
Boa Morte’s was substituted on
63 minutes after a minor confrontation with the Peterborough defence.
Christian Damiano obviously deciding not to risk injury at this
late stage and the striker left the field to a solid round of
applause from the good size crowd Motspur Park crowd.
A mention should also go to Zat
Knight - our steadily improving giant defender who kept his concentration
whenever required. Definitely one for the future.
