Fulham manager Roy Hodgson is set for a summer capture of FC Nuremberg's central defender Matthew Spiranovic, according to News of the World.
The young Australian, of Croatian descent, has reportedly impressed Hodgson over the course of the season, and the former Inter Milan manager is set to make a move for him during the summer transfer window.
The Cottagers boss is looking to strengthen his side ahead of the new season, when they will also compete in the Europa League.
The European run may mean an extra 19 games for the club, so Hodgson is desperate to bolster his squad in time for the new campaign.
The European qualification for the club will no doubt attract Spiranovic, who is reportedly keen on a move.
The 20-year-old is widely regarded as one of Australia's hottest prospects, and has already made his way into the country's international set-up.
The former Melbourne Knights youth player is set to cost the Cottagers around £1 million, and is thought to be the first of a few new players to arrive at Craven Cottage.
Spiranovic has been playing for Nuremberg since 2006, and has since made 25 league appearances, without scoring, and also has two international caps to his name.
