Fulham are reported to be on the track of striker Darius Henderson as a replacement for Brian McBride.
McBride is unlikely to be available until the New Year after suffering a serious knee injury in the Middlesbrough game.
Henderson, 25, plays for Watford and Fulham boss Lawrie Sanchez sees the 6 footer as able to fill the role of target man.
A wholehearted player, Henderson scored 14 goals for Watford as they gained promotion to the Premiership. Once in the Premiership however the goals dried up with him potting just 3 goals in 35 outings.
A Fulham bid, rumoured to be £1.5m, has been rejected by Watford despite the Hornets having, just weeks ago, agreed to sell Henderson to Preston for £1.3m.
Watford are now reported to have rejected a transfer request from Henderson, angry that the Hornets have blocked his chance to play in the Premiership with Fulham.
