Fulham
Fulham boss Jean Tigana may select Sylvain Legwinski, his new capture from Bordeaux, in midfield against Sunderland.
Legwinski passed a medical today and could be set for an early taste of life in the Premiership.
Tigana has defender Rufus Brevett available after suspension, but the Frenchman will again be without Portuguese livewire Luis Boa Morte, who is yet to complete a ban, as the Cottagers seek to build on their impressive, if futile, performance at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Midfielder Lee Clark loses out on the opportunity to face his former club with an ongoing achilles problem, but one former Mackem who will play is centre-half Andy Melville.
Squad: van der Sar, Taylor, Melvlle, Harley, Goma, Finnan, Ouaddou, Symons, Brevett, Davis, Malbranque, Betsy, Goldbaek, Stolcers, Collins, Saha, Hayles
Sunderland
Peter Reid is set to play midfielder Don Hutchison despite the confusion surrounding the Scottish international's future.
The 30-year-old, who missed the opening-day win over Ipswich through suspension, has been liked with a move north of the border to Rangers, but Reid insists he will have no qualms about selecting him.
The Black Cats boss has a more pressing problem in defence, with Brazilian Emerson Thome suffering from a thigh injury. Slovakian man-mountain Stanislav Varga is expected to replace him, though Darren Williams and George McCartney are also on standby.
Squad: Sorensen, Macho, Haas, Varga, McCartney, Williams, Gray, Craddock, Schwarz, McCann, Rae, Kilbane, Hutchison, Laslandes, Quinn, Phillips
