Fulham striker Elvis Hammond is hoping he can stay at Leicester City until the end of the season.

The young striker is on a five-month loan at The Walkers Stadium from Fulham as he looks to build up his first-team experience.

He is currently due to return to Craven Cottage at the end of the year but is enjoying his stint in The Championship.

Though Hammond has yet to score for The Foxes, he is keen for the fans, and manager Craig Levein, to show patience as he finds his feet in the club.

Hammond marked his first start for Leicester by missing a string of chances in Saturday's draw at Crewe but is targeting a longer stint in the East Midlands.

"I will make up for it," Hammond said of his display in the 2-2 stalemate at Gresty Road.

"I can't have another day like this. It was horrible.

"I'd like to stay longer, the fans are the best and I like the club.

"It's up to the manager if he wants me so I've just got to do my best."
