Beat the system with Fulham to win
last updated Thursday 24th August 2000, 12:34 PM
Our next outing in the Nationwide Division
One is at home against Stockport and all the Bookie chaps have us down
as odds on favourites to win by one or two goals. This means that the
odds for Fulham to win the game are fairly short at a best price of
4/9 with Ladbrokes.
If you are convinced that a Fulham win is a stone bonkers certainty
and that taking money from the Bookies is a duty then the only thing
to do is to have a single on The Mighty Whites to win.
As you may well know Football League rules and sometimes Bookie fears
conspires against us poor betting folk getting a single on the match
of our choice. However it is possible to get round the restriction by
using the Bookies own set up.
We can use the firsthalf secondhalf bet in such a way as to get a single
on the outcome we want to bet on.
To back Fulham to win just bet proportionately on the three first/secondhalf
outcomes that end up with Fulham being the winner at the end of the
match (Stockport/Fulham, Draw/Fulham and Fulham/Fulham). Of course if
you want to back the Draw or a Stockport win you take the particular
three options that end with your choice being the winner.
To make it easy I have drawn up a table, that shows you the options
to back, displayed below, using the prices offered by the Magic Sign. The
relationship between the stakes is important so if you want to bet with
a larger or smaller sum divide or multiply the suggested stakes below
by the same prefered number

Stake levels can be increased or reduced
as long as you keep the same proportions. So multiply or divide
each stake by the same number.
If you feel confident you can always leave one of the three elements,
of what ever outcome you are betting on, out to increase your rate
of return but remember that that also increases your risk of losing |
