Why are we so slow when signing transfer targets? Scott Parker can change all this in a jiffy if he can get a jog on and wake these Khans up. Apparently, we can't or will not sign Dwight Gale and Assombalonga unless we can offload Mitrovic to complete the deal on those 2? Personally, i don't think that Mitrovic will sell for 30 million. I would want to see 20 goals from a 30 mill striker and sadly big Mitro is a touch slow and lacks pace as a target man. Our owners have not really forked out a fortune on players yet and i would argue that most of last years money could come off our playoff kitty. If we are serious in our quest to return to the prem quickly? We could push on and buy Gale and Assombalonga without selling Mitrovic. I really think that Mitro will benefit from pace-man Assom and we would have a more potent attacking force with Gale up in attack also, we would be awesome! Mitrovic would get 20 plus goals with those 2 troubling defenders. There is room for Kabano and Aite as wingers because we expect Sessegnon to be sold anyway. Ak-47 could be another potent force if he learns to be a bit more accurate and take his chances up front. Our obvious defencive problems need sorting out and Parker will need to address this problem quickly. If Scott Parker can move and identify and sign transfer targets early? He will have half a chance to keep his job, and Fulham could well find themselves in the driving seat up front in the Championships. Scott Parker could well go down in folklore and be a Fulham legend in management. Can he move quickly on these transfer targets and nail them? His job may well depend on it. Scott Parker needs to be assertive and go tell the Khans to open their wallets. Signing early could be the difference in success or failure...

Patrick Roberts is available from Manchester City for £4 million, would he at the age of 22 now be a good fit for Fulham to resign him? Apparently Brendon Rogers is in for him to play for Leicester City. Why not get him back to assist in our immediate return to the Premiership?

I hope the stand gets named after a commercial sponsor, for a fee. To do so would actually make the club look more forward looking and competitive. The name 'George Cohen' is not exactly forward looking. If there’s any individual at all who deserves recognition, surely its Mohamed Al-Fayed, whose name we still sing. Jimmy Hill is a significant person in Fulham’s history, but Al-Fayed put his hand into very deep pockets and took us from growing obscurity into Europe.
Replies
So you telling me that naming the Stevenage Road stand - The Jonny Haynes Stand was a mistake because it"wasn't very forward looking" what utter bilge. Ok in that case let's get London Rubber Industries signed up as a sponsor and name the new stand "The Durex Stand" has a certain panache to it .....not

You can have my seats if you like - mine went up by 14% so another reason not to renew!!

I don't care about the price per game; it is about the level of football you watch and £33 per game in the Championship watching the likes of Brentford, Preston, Millwall, Luton, Barnsley, etc. is obscene in my opinion but each has his own value on watching 22 blokes kick a ball around....

The main point of my post was that my price per game is £19 & my lads £3 which is good value even though it's champs footie. I would watch us at any level though. What is annoying us the t I can't view the 360 degree of my new seat contrary to the qa section of the st renewal site. We always seem to be very ameuturish on that side of things in my opinion. How can I agree to renew when I have no idea what the view is like!?!?

To be honest how many people enjoyed this season more than the last one? Apart from being THE premier league - it was so much more enjoyable and competitive in the championship. I heard someone Norwich fan said, he wished they were In the championship every season, and able to win it but there’s no promotion! So true if you think about it! Unless you have the strength and weight, do you want to get into a ring with a heavy weight boxer?

I’ve never written I wouldn’t go. I’ve written I won’t renew my season ticket. I’ve also written I’ll likely get a membership and go to particular games (probably mostly away). The posts aren’t about me, you have to read past that, my posts are propaganda about the Khan regime and my dislike of their stubborn stance on their recruitment policy and intent on ripping off fans. Football prices and geography are irrelevant in my opinion; it is the level you are watching and £33 per game for Championship football is among the most expensive if not THE most expensive.
posted by MST (Moderator) - Saturday 25th May 2019, 9:04 AM

Can’t see how they can be much cheaper they put a lot of money in l have been going since 1960 Dad before that had a lot of worst Chairman with the new work at Motspur Park and now Cottage l put them joint top with MAF not forgetting Jimmy Hill and the muddymen which saved the club. And l did read once you were not coming again and going to watch your local clubs at grass roots glad you have changed your mind

I have had two season tickets at FFC for 20 years. We are in Block X, Stevenage Road. Last year renewal £589 Coming season renewal £649 (Just received in post). That's over 10% price increase and we have been relegated ! Clearly increasing the prices in our seats is designed to encourage many NOT to renew to make some space for the prawn sandwich brigade in the Riverside. They were never going to be happy sitting in the Putney end and rather than forcing us out, the board are using a pricing strategy. It has worked! I was the lynchpin in my family organising others to come to Fulham and that will end now. There comes a point where you have to decide...Do I agree with what is going on here? I have watched as the numbers of youngsters in the stand ever declines Please don't be fooled by the false adoration of clubs by owners. Football is just a business where the sole goal is Premiership football and access to that television revenue prize pot. Cheerio you mighty whites its been an interesting journey!
Replies
If you calculate the number of games it works out as a price reduction per game for you. 23 home games next year at that price = £28 per game, whereas 19 games last year at the old price = £31 per game.
posted by Chris of Jokes - Friday 24th May 2019, 11:32 AM

But Championship football versus Premier league. I'm in the same boat as Bassman as season ticket price has gone UP £50 to watch lesser status football. I thought the club may wish to reward their supporters after such a tragic past season. I know I'd be naïve to think that.
posted by Chris (Guest) - Friday 24th May 2019, 12:26 PM

To be fair and playing devils advocate, they didn't hike the prices last year for renewing on the early bird when we were going into the prem. Afraid it is the way of the world these days, prices rarely go down unless it is a closing down sales or sports direct who have them every day!

Credit to the club for keeping the early bird prices from last season. There was a lot of criticism from people that the Fulham ticket prices went up significantly (greed etc). what people forgot is actually for the loyal fans, their prices were not impacted - we all watched premier league football (albeit often I felt they should be paying me!) for £20-30 a game (depending where you were seating). Only those (yes, I feel for those who are loyal but could only afford to come to some games) tourist fans got penalised with increased prices. I wonder if the prices are the same for first time season tickets holders from last year!

New stand, new season, new start!
I was not happy about Parker, but now it's done, better give him a chance. I would have preferred a new face but hey - ho. Can't see Man United man lasting long and that was sort of 'promotion from within'. A few questions to ponder though:-
1) When did we vote Mr May on to the cabinet?
2) What will the new Eagle's line up sound like at Wembley?
3) Who stole my neighbour's cat?
4) When Watford were at Wembley, why did there goalkeeper keep kicking it long (like Cardiff), when Man City were keeping the ball for two minutes at a time?
5)Should I find something better to do now??

simple answer to the last two: get mitro fit. you will require someone of his physical presence in the championship, a bit like the last time,.and it worked then. i admit he looked pretty sluggish and a tad disinterested when he played, but could this also be something to do with the fact that he got zilch service, any type of pass or cross that he could do anything with? I thin k it would not be possible to play both the two players mentioned, despite them both being okay. I say stick with mitro( that is if he wants to stay anyway!),and mainly aim at getting two ball heading, six foot central defenders.

Dear David RIVERSIDE STAND DEVELOPMENT ANNOUNCEMENT Making sure that Fulham remains at Craven Cottage has always been a key pillar of the Fulham Supporters’ Trust. We are therefore delighted with today’s confirmation that work on the new Riverside Stand will start this summer, a significant investment from Shahid Khan towards securing our long term future by the river. Craven Cottage is an integral part of the character of our club. That we continue playing there whilst work is ongoing is also of paramount importance to us, as we have made clear in our regular discussions with the Club and which they have acknowledged. We appreciate that there will be inconvenience when it comes to relocating an entire stand’s worth of Fulham supporters elsewhere in Craven Cottage. Since January that is something that we have tried to assist the club with, making suggestions and offering feedback throughout. We will continue to try to offer solutions so that fans’ inconvenience can be minimised. Whilst space is limited in the rest of the ground, we have made the point that everything possible needs to be done to keep the various groups in the Riverside sitting together. Once the stand is rebuilt, it’s important that Riversiders then have an opportunity to sit there again and be kept together once more. Again, the Club have listened and sought to do that. Not everything we suggested has been possible, but we will continue to work with the Club, both during the build and after, so that we have a ground full of our own fans. We welcome the commitment to regular dialogue with stakeholders during the build and to provide regular updates on progress over the next two years or so for supporters and residents alike. The Trust has already been in discussion with the Club about reflecting our history and heritage in the new stand and we will continue to pursue those themes. We too want the new Riverside Stand to be a part of a ground we can all be proud of. Our next regular meeting with the club is on Monday 10th June. As ever, we want to hear feedback from Trust members old and new. If you’re not yet a member then please join here and help us continue to shape the future of our club. It has taken a while for all involved to get to this point but today is a significant day in the history of Craven Cottage. It is worth celebrating and we thank Shahid Khan for that. I have just been reading Schurrles assessment of last season , he believed he played well and could have helped the team if he had played more games ..... the man is deluded . Total lack of commitment and effort overshadowed his obvious skills , just another mercenary taking the money under false pretences.
Replies
Alan ...agreed Schurrle was a hopeless signing couldn't even finish 90 minutes I admit he scored a couple of flashy goals but FFC needed a lot more from him same for Seri sooner they are both off the books the better same for Le marchand who according to the stats was the worst central defender in the Premiership of course we didn't need the official stats to tell us that .

If he is so sorry about his lack of appearances, and he was obviously being well paid, for his non showings, why didn't he offer to stay for a season in the Championship, where with his experience he would probably have done pretty well. He obviously thinks that playing in this league is below his dignity, which I think is a disgusting attitude. So he will go back to his parent club, and not even find a first eleven spot. Good riddance I say.

Most of our signings in the frantic supermarket-sweep that was last summer's transfer window were unknowns. Shurrle, though, was 'a name', with World Cup pedigree to boot. But he epitomised our season. High on expectation, low on delivery. One memorable goal, but little else. Physically, he looked far too lightweight to cut it in the PL. Begs the question whether a vegan diet is suitable for a PL player?

Apparently, we have an interest in getting him on board. I was screaming out for us to get this guy last season. Assombalonga has plenty of pace and can get the ball up to forwards quicker than most. We lacked pace all season in prem and this is part of the reason why we are back in the Championships. We still need to sort the defence obviously...

Rodney Marsh’s name is one of the most remembered in the history of English football. Widely admired by thousands for his spirit and charisma, as well as incredibly talented gameplay, his career peaked in the 60s and 70s with many highs and lows on the way. Perhaps, he was too talented for the times he was born in. Rodney Marsh’s story is the story of undermined talent and free spirit. Rodney Marsh was very well-known among the English fans for his performance in several renowned clubs. He started at Fulham as a junior team player, and after scoring 40 goals there, he was given a chance to show what he is capable of in the 1963 game against AstonVilla. The winning goal was his, and manager Jezzard was very satisfied with this beginning. However, soon enough Jezzard was replaced by Vick Buckingham, who had little tolerance towards individuality and order defiance. He and Rodney Marsh sure did not get along. It was understandable, though: Rodney’s style of game was far from conservative, he longed to play by his own rules, to be maximally effective on the field even if his game contradicted the manager’s overall strategy. He sought to entertain fans rather than win the game. He wanted to have fun on the field, pulling off tricks and challenging his own teammates. What kind of manager would love that?Rodney Marsh 2 Apparently, Marsh was a complicated personality to deal with, often lost and unable to decide what he wanted. He was born and raised in extremely poor conditions, and often mentioned his controversial relationship with his father. He grew up a free spirit, unwilling to play by the rules of the system. In his interactions with managers, he pulled off jokes that could certainly come off as disrespectful. However, he had one advantage: he was an amazingly talented player. Alec Stock, manager to Queens Park Rangers, was among those who appreciated Marsh’s talent and individuality, and let him attack fiercely on the field, just as Marsh had wanted. In the 1966 season, March scored 44 goals out of 53, with some of the goals being so tasteful and thought through, they seemed almost impossible to perform. Rodney himself admitted that he was too free-spirited for the conventional English football. His talent did get him far, but his compliance and easy disposition could have got him even further. Unfortunately, he had neither. The tone in which he made remarks about the games, fellow team members and managers left much to be desired. He was very rarely tolerant of the situation around him, and filed for transfer multiple times throughout his career. His many injuries did give him further career setbacks. But he was loved by many, and he never settled for a bleak compromise. His style and flare will live in the memories of his fans, because he truly knew how to play for them, and not for the club’s management pleasure or profit. And this made him a true maverick.
Replies
I found this article by Sportsfreak. Rodney Marsh was not always liked by his peers, but i have always liked a player like Marsh. Funnily enough we always attract a few mavericks over the years. I like my flair players and entertainment is what we are known for. Bring on the next Maverick i say...

Ryan Sessegon to Manchester United makes sense for the boy, but at not a penny less than £50 million or perhaps we could persude him to put pen to paper on a new two-year contract and sell him after we get promotion again to the big boys league? If as it appears Aleksandra Mitrovic would be prepared to stay at Craven Cottage next season to battle and gain promotion once again. I say keep him at all costs because us fans love him in full flow but he needs Sess to lay the ball off to him as that is what we did in our last Championship campaign.

I recently look at details of our squad and note Cauley Woodrow is still included despite having been transferred to Barnsley a year ago. Who is responsible for keeping this section updated. Like Fulham boy I also saw the 10 - 1 thrashing of Ipswich when Graham Leggatt scored a three goals in four minutes which was, and probably still is, the quickest hat-trick on record. I also saw Ronnie Rooke, my hero at the time, score all six goals against Bury in 1945/46. Those days saw football at its peak when it was almost impossible to get into the Cottage unless you arrived at least 30 minutes before KO as we were starved of regular matches due to the War although football still carried on with guest players turning out for clubs nearest to where they were stationed. Of course, there was not any competitive football as it was suspended for the duration.

At last somebody who remembers the great Ronnie Rook, what a blow when we sold him to Arsenal. We also had a good left winger Ernie Shepheard on loan from Plymouth. Those were the days when we had 3 international centre forewords playing at one time,I think one was Jock Mc gibbon also on loan .Good days

Maybe ive missed something over the years but surely this team is no more than the prime example of 21st century football greed and fraud. No questioning that they are currently the best group of players in the PL,but thats just what they are a group formed by chequebook with no scruples with regards to the real spirit of football or home grown talent .Fortunately they have many a year to go before they can even glimpse Uniteds worldwide recognition. Let me elaborate. There are certain fair play financial rules evidently only applicable to the minnoes. If your team is owned by the mayor of doshtown who uses that name as its sponser then flogs as much cash in cos its perfectly legal. If you own an airline, then much the same applies. Aer lingus, Klm ,air france etc cannot be supported by their governments in times of trouble because EEC legislation considers this unfair trading. However if you are Demirates or batar no problem, its perfectly ok to run them at a loss and subsidise them with petrodollars .In fact they can produce accounts showing surplus which end up at city ,psg ….Someone below dared to compare with Brazil. Please please. That was probably the best footballing nation in history and not very ethical to put in the same pot.

Whilst City may be perceived as a footballing super-power, Pep's primary objective when he was appointed was not to win the domestic competitions (Mancini and Pellegrini had already done this). He was brought in to dominate European football, which so far has been fruitless

Pep Guardiola is just a brilliant coach and we shouldn't begrudge him his success or City's. I remember Stirling could not even kick a ball straight and he missed chances millimetres away. Now an improve Stirling and England benefits immensely. I wonder what he could do with a left back who isn't really a left back, who plays right wing and left wing and is baffled and confused in what his role his??? Guardiola is the reason why self-proclaimed genius Mourinho couldn't take the heat in English football anymore. I hope Scott Parker learns a few things from watching pep football. I can't blame Sessegnon for slinking off to pastures new with how we play him...

Not sure Sessegnon is "slinking" anywhere, he will get a good offer from a top club and he will leave to hopefully improve his game and go on to get a lot of full England caps- let's all wish him well

Definitely getting worse, money talks, peps the best coach by a mile (KLO pup not bad either!) Chelsea won all those trophies with money but where would we be without That cash from Harrods? Tough reality is Norwich and Sheffield United squads under £5 million Man City ,Liverpool and Man U squad just under £500 million that’s 100 times more so apart from the Leicester miracle next seasons league very predictable.

Jack Walker bought the title with Blackburn Rovers, the Liverpool side of the 1970s bought all the top players, rumours abounded about Leeds United buying games and Don Reevie was engaged in a corruption scandal. So it’s ever been thus. Man City are disliked as it’s overseas money and in vast amounts and they have few English players. Sport is about competition. Man City are so good that beyond Liverpool there is no competition. For me, as so few teams have any chance of winning the Premier League it’s not a competition and it’s not worth watching. The championship is much better for spectators. I hope some other teams like Spurs bridge the gap and make it better and City get a transfer bans and championship league ban as it’s clear they have cheated by sponsorship well above any true commercial rate.

Phil , you may enjoywatchong Championship football rather than Premier league. But give me City, Arsenal, Spurs etc any day. Whilst it's true money is the overriding factor not just in football but in all sports it's how things are and don't forget nobody at the club complained when Mr Al - Fayed ploughed millions into FFC. Watching the skill of players like De-Brune, Hazzard etc is a pleasure to watch as was seeing the great JH strut his stuff.

I just cannot believe the club not only not put season tickets up for sale, have not made any statement on the plan. This is very unprofessional and in any business, it just isn’t acceptable!! I have defended the club on many occasions including the bad transfers but this is just extremely amateurish! Come out and tell the fans what is going on!? We appreciate the complexity with the new build but we just want to hear what is the plan. We are the customers and on this occasion we are not treated with proper transparency or consideration!

Dont panic there is another 11/12 weeks to the start of the season, many clubs have not released their ticket prices, plus the fact where could we be playing

Like thousands of others I have just watched today's FA Cup Final, and to my mind, Manchester City are spoiling everything for all the other teams, and they just humiliated Watford this afternoon, which wasn't really nice, for a major final. Who is going to stop their charge now. I suppose it can only be Liverpool, as the rest don't seem to have any chance. City are the Celtic of the Premier League.
Replies
Yeah - probably could have kept it at 5-0. I don’t think Vincent wanted the six - you saw his Facebook to Troy. They will get another 100 points next season...and will probably score 200 goals. Premier league is in danger of being low formula one (or the Scottish premier league) too predictable and only ever one winner...

Man City are winners, I wish that the Fulham players had the same attitude. No successful side are good losers. IF IT WAS FULHAM AT THE TOP I AM SURE THAT ALL TRUE SUPPORTERS WOULD BE WANTING NO ONLY SIX BUT SEVEN. I was lucky enough to at the cottage when we beat Ipswich 10 -1. Watching Haynes grab the ball from the back of the net when number 8 went in and rush to the centre circle to restart the game as quick as possible to score more.

Crikey! Talk about sour grapes! Each and every Man City player gives everything they have in every game. They work hard to get to the top of their profession and become successful in their chosen sport and I for one think that is remarkable and admirable! I don’t recall anyone saying Yusain Bolt is ruining athletics or Anthony Joshua ruining boxing or Steve Redgrave ruining rowing or Ian Thorpe ruining swimming or, or, or. In my opinion people who reach the pinnacle of their careers are to be admired not admonished. Shame on you...

Bit harsh Doggo, he was playing out of position much of the time. Anyone else think it's odd how all these other interested clubs still think he's a left back? He couldn't play there in the Championship and only really shone when we got Targett in and pushed him forward.

Possibly the worse move who could make. He would develop into a much better player under the guidance of Pep, Klopp or even Poch. There are some parallels there between how Utd & Fulham are run.....Stay away Sess, hold out for a club where you will thrive.

Even if Man U offer £40m against Spurs £25m? Sess doesn’t want to sign a new contract so as a club, we maximise his value. Anyway - there’s more chance him playing for Man U than Spurs at the moment. He will not get a game at Liverpool - he’s no where near Robertson or Mane.

See what money is laid out first, Utd always pay over the odds so we will see. Just think he'd develop into a better player under one of those 3 I mentioned. But saying that Ole is at the wheel so we will see haha.

Defender or headless chicken? The England U21's (when he does manage to get off the bench) see him as a forward, whilst potential buyers/FFC don't really know what category he falls into. Take the big bucks because 3M is probably the true valuation

At the moment Man U seem to be "interested" in about 40 players, Spurs would probably suit him better, can still live in or near London should he wish

whatever club he is rumoured to be joining, out of the three suggested, the point is, he wont play every week and his progress would be held back playing as a sub or in cup games. the best solution could be to let us keep him on loan for next season, at least he would get regular starts. oh yes, and dogberts valuation of him is, lets say politely, misguided, a bit like his first post, and the next one due up soon--.

Listen, I like RS - he's a good lad, but unfortunately the defensive side of his game is nowhere near up to PL standard, whether he is at LB or further forward. His ball retention is poor, and tracking back is a struggle. Take the biggest cash pot because filling RS's boots will not be a problem, but addressing our other failings will need every penny of his transfer fee!!

I honestly believe that sess is premiership class, but he suffered the effects of playing in such a pony team, and being virtually discarded when clownio came and confused the issue even more.as for it not being a problem replacing him, i don't think there is a talent to match him on his day on the left side, wherever he plays there. my point is he is coming up 19, still young to be carrying such a huge pricetag ,but I am resigned to see him depart to spurs, who will probably put his career in reverse, as they did with davis, malbranque and Dempsey, all of whom were never the same when they played there.

I remember when a decent young player at Palace named Saha, wanted to join United for probably the same reasons as Ryan. After a short miserable time there, he managed to get a transfer back to Palace. Now he older, wiser and probably a much better player by having regular first team football, and is ready to try again at a bigger club.

Source; Evening Standard

Controversial striker Aboubakar Kamara will be given a chance to resurrect his Fulham career by Scott Parker.

Kamara was cast out on loan to Turkish side Yeni Malatyaspor for the second half of the season after he was arrested in January on suspicion of actual bodily harm and criminal damage, following allegations of a fight at Fulham’s training ground.

Parker wants the 24-year-old to return for pre-season training, when he will assess his squad and weigh up whether to keep him.

Kamara joined Fulham from French club Amiens for £5million in 2017.

Stefan Johansen, who spent the second half of the season on loan at West Brom, will also return to Fulham in pre-season.

Great news MST, and i would like to add that one Stefan Johansen is also back for the new season. My only worry is a transfer budget for Scott Parker, will he get one? Build from what we have by all means, but we also need fresh faces around our team. I am happy for Kamara and i hope he comes back with his shooting boots. I still think we need another striker, the more the better. Our defence is terrible and it wasn't much better in the past. I hope we can work on this problem and bring in fresh blood where necessary. Scott Parker needs to be ruthless and drop those who make too many mistakes. I hope the Khans can fix this with hard cash... P.S, nice touch from Kamara above, i knew he had a heart, he loves Fulham...

Terrible, if not unsurprising news. I think this signals that Mitrovic is going & Tony is pulling Parker's strings. Add this to the average journeymen players whose contracts have been extended ( Ayite, Kebano, Odoi ), the very likely loss of Sessignon & the return of good loanees to their clubs, ( Chambers etc, ) a promotion season seems unlikely. We could struggle next season, although a low mid table finish seems more likely.

We will also have Fonte coming back from loan spell with French Club . He has a lot to prove . Pity about Chambers as like several here , i thought he was one our best players and could be very good in the championship . But Arsenal seem to have problems in midfield so maybe he sees opportunity there . Whoever we do sign we need to get them in early so they can adjust and we have a shape and system (s) ready for the off . Bringing in 8 players on the last day of the window does not work

Parker might well be a yes-man and is doing as he is told, but i only see him lasting 6-8 games. Are we in a bad or good position? Time will tell. There is a flash sale and there will be good money floating around. The Khans might well be correct if holding back on spending in the Scott Parker era. Let us see how we kick off the season in the Championships and how the likes of Aite, Kabano, and who is left onboard perform. This is a good test for Scott Parker and traditionally Fulham always have time to pull back any bad start to our season. One problem might be an experienced manager and there are no takers around at the moment. Maybe Bielsa of Leeds might be available? We don't know anything yet. It is important not to look at our situation negatively and think we are heading into free-fall. We are Fulham and we will recover quickly in a crisis. Scott Parker will have his opportunity as skipper and he has the best help available in Stuart Gray and others on board. There will be no hiding place or any missed opportunities for fringe players on bord now. Aite, Kabano, and whoever will need to get over any injury hiccups in close season and come out of the shadows and prove they deserve a shot at Fulham. Over to you Scott Parker and all the best. 'You have 6-8 games in my opinion, entertain us!!!!!!!!
