While nearly all of the clubs in the Championship are strengthening their squads, what do we do at Fulham, we sit on our damn hands as usual. I optimistically buy a couple of papers every morning, with the constant hope that I will at least read about some sort of rumours surrounding Fulham's new signings, but as usual it's zilch. Alright we signed some bloke from Wolves, who may or not may be a help, but he doesn't exactly fill me with excitement. Are we going to have another last minute panic buy as is Fulham's usual way of doing things. I thought that it might be a bit different under Scotty. Surely we should have our new squad available during pre-season planning, otherwise it will be a complete waste of time. As someone has already pointed out, we haven't even scored a bloody goal yet, so we need another striker, and quick.
Replies
At least it could be an interesting 2/3 weeks before the transfer window is slammed shut! We already just saw Seri off. We will probably see Sessengnon, anguissa, Fonte and Christie leaving and hopefully we will buy the chap from Bristol city, new striker, new right back and maybe centre back as well!

They are the dumping ground for wayward/sh!t players. When no one else want them, they put their hands up. They probably do well out of the deals but the alternative is so much worse.

....really sorry. Deleted your post in error (fat fingers). I went to press reply and hit the delete button which is very close underneath. It was a really interesting post on the Wild West and Saturday morning pictures and some of the replies were also interesting. I’d love it if you could please post again. On the subject though Saturday morning pictures for a tanner brings back good memories of being an ABC minor and watching the man in the iron mask, Zorro, Woody Woodpecker, Flash Gordon, etc. Even remember the song that started “we are the boys and girls well known as the minors of the ABC”....

The "debate" has been going on since Oliver Cromwell's time Biggy, with the minority republicans tending to have the loudest voice. Your point of view represents the majority, else England would be a republic by now, something for which the vast majority apparently have no appetite. My loyalty remains to the Crown, no matter where I live. Bottom line - this is a football club fan site, great for off-topic one-liners but hardly a forum for serious debate. Enjoy the banter, it's free and mostly entertaining, even if you don't agree with it. Rgds.

Serri only on loan with an option to buy, should reduce our wage bill a bit though, looking at our current squad we’re looking pretty decent, last time we got relegated cleared out virtually all our best players with the exception of Scott Parker, fancy us to finish in the top 6 would be really surprised if we’re not back in the premier within 2 years with a fabulous stadium.

Jean Michaël Seri from different reports was supposed to have cost us between £22 - £27 million and wages £35,000 a week. I suspect if we are very lucky he will play well enough for someone else to want to take him on loan to pay this wage for another year. Otherwise we will have to subsidise his salary for him to play at another team for his final couple of seasons. Oh and of course he will start playing brilliantly for some team in his last season like Mitroglou did.

Seri will need to pull his socks up if he wants a move away from the Cottage. I seriously doubt that we will permanently offload Seri because he really isn't that brilliant these days. Apart from a few flashy videos, and a nice goal of the month against Burnley, there really is not that much going for our Seri. He may find Turkey to his liking in that players around him can get more from him. I still say that some players off the ball need to get more involved by seeking and getting the ball and basically working harder. Funnily enough, it would be to Seri's advantage if he had stayed with Fulham this season with the likes of Caravallo coming in. We need midfielders who can keep hold of the ball and distribute it intelligently. I have heard bad things about our midfield which is still messing up. Seri needs to sit down and think about his move and his overall game in particular.

Gary Lineker is hardly Jimmy Hill on MOD is he? Is he worth £1.7 mill for that. plus plus other appearance fees. He is totally against our country becoming independent, having own parliament and justice system and wants to give Brussels £39 billion for absolutely nothing. If he wants to become a politician why does he not shut and put for election like any decent candidate? Our former player Danny Murphy is excellent and should move over take Lineker out but I suppose his is not PC enough for the totally bais BBC. Agree?

Seems there are 2 things being discussed here that is clouding the issue. Gary Lineker is paid for what the BBC commercially values his presenting skill at. It seems strange how this is worth this amount but then so is what other media and sports people get paid but I presume they wouldn't get it if it could be avoided. The second bit is when some one like Gary Lineker has a public platform and uses that for something outside of there expertise. I am all for him commenting on anything political relating to football or sport in general but not using his position to influence his audience with his political view. you would never get Sir David Attenborough giving his views on anything other than environmental issues but then again Sir David Attenborough(the only one I call a sir) is a gent.

In my opinion and that of many others the Monarchy brings stability and has proved successful in this country for centuries. Yes you can quote the mistresses etc of previous monarchs but that was due to the times that they lived in and, apparently, was accepted. Where things went wrong was the behaviour of Charles to a young teenager which was despicable. For an heir to the throne to continue his relationship with Camilla Parker Bowles when recently married and with two young children I found unacceptable. However, I digress, and whilst I agree that fringe royalty, especially Andrew and his two work shy sponging daughters have no credence and should not enjoy their privileged life style I am prepared to defend the Monarchy. For those old enough to remember the War you will recall that King George and Queen Elizabeth were urged to relocate to Canada and refused to go and stayed. Buckingham Palace was bombed and the King said " I can now look my fellow countrymen in the eye" and he and the Queen toured the East End and many bombed areas raising morale and providing inspiration for the whole country. If you don't believe me ask your parents or grandparents and listen to what that have to say. As for the poster who stupidly stated Russia had the right idea in 1917 I can only say he should look at that country now which is ruled by a despot who is also probably the richest person in the world with a fortune estimated in excess of £300 billion. I suggest he tries living there for a few years. For anyone wishing for our beloved country to become a republic think again and the actual cost and the possibility of becoming a dictatorship somewhere along the line. You are all entitled to your opinion but before you implement some of your radical ideas speak to your grandparents who may have fought in the War and be careful what you wish for.

You are perfectly correct apart from stating it was the Queen mother which would have been Queen Mary as opposed to Queen Elizabeth. Judging from your comments on inherited status I therefore assume you are against parents leaving weath to their children or children accepting wealth whether it be hundreds or millions of pounds. I have known people with similar Marxiists views until it affects them and when they come in to money, whether it is the lottery, pools or a big win on the horses then it is a different matter. That type of view denies entrepreneurs from wanting to achieve success, such as Dyson, Sugar and many others. How sad!

Geezer, I fully agree with your comments which are equally applicable to the French Revolution. That is not the point thst I am making. Our country is a rock of stability and I for one believe that the Monarchy has done a marvellous job in assisting in this matter. Stslin was responsible for around 20 million death and Hitler was no better and that is probably why they sgreed a peace treaty in 1940. Suppression of free speech, religion snd many other basic rights is always the main ingredient for these regimes. Yes I understand why Hitlet and Lenin succeeded but at what cost? For me I am happy to live in England and proud to have been born and bred in Fulham

Personally I cannot for the life of me understand how we have reached the 21st century and we have not evolved enough to realise that Kings Queens Princes and Princesses belong to a distant past where people did not know any better. They are about as realistic to normal thinking people as dragons and fairies yet a large proportion of society are still prepared to tug their forelocks and look upon these people as some form of superior beings. If Henry 8th had been an ordinary pleb history would have viewed him quite correctly as a serial killer. Instead he is seen as some jack the lad who was possibly a bit touched but very rarely is he criticised. I am honest enough to admit that had I been around years ago when to criticise royalty would incur severe penalties including execution I would have been pathetically queuing in the rain with the best of the sycophants. The point is we don’t have to anymore unless of course we are part of the inner circle, then as Lady Di would find out to her cost we would seriously need to watch our backs. Big boy you very kindly state that everyone is entitled to an opinion on the matter you probably won’t like it but this is mine and has been for more years than I can remember. I am not saying a republic is the answer or wishing to invoke radical changes, the monarchy and those that have interests in them are far too powerful and civil war is a nightmare that nobody needs. It would just be useful if people could worship them without trying to force their views on those who do not wish to play the subservient game. Some still believe that the royals were actually chosen by God to represent them when the truth is actually far more brutal.
posted by Eddie (Guest) - Wednesday 17th July 2019, 11:34 PM

Eddie, the UK is a Constitutional Monarchy as you know. The Crown has no influence, direct or otherwise, on the conduct of the country's internal or external affairs. You made the point that the general populace no longer have to stand in the rain and tug their forelocks, and that has been the case for several centuries, but many CHOOSE to do so of their own violition, either by toeing the line in person or by proxy in pubs or in front of the television. Their silent acceptance of the status quo shouldn't be construed as subservience, the bottom line being most people quite like and respect the senior royals. More importantly, royalty and its status is very, very low on their list of things to worry about. It's simply a matter of no import to the vast majority. The armed forces are a different case which recognises obedience to the government on one hand and loyalty to the crown on the other. Given the average distain in the military for politicians the prospect of tension between obedience and loyalty helps to keep extreme political ambitions in check. If you don't want a republic, as you said, and you're not proposing radical change, then the status quo prevails and we're left with our personal views. Personally speaking, only HM and the direct line hold significance for me. The rest are of little or no concern. I'm much more concerned however as to whether Tim Ream can regain his jump height, a very real and obvious problem. Rgds.

Arizonan I think you under estimate the level of deference toward the monarchy certainly in my part of the world which is edge of east London bordering Essex. My main problem is that many monarchists seem to think it is their solemn duty to guide non believers across from the dark side. Whenever state occasions arrive with the inevitable overblown coverage I try my very best to avoid them and keep my own council until the event finally goes away. This is never enough for most royalists some quite aggressive in their approach others more benign but unconsciously patronising. A debate when finally provoked by these people always ends with me standing my ground and the perpetrators quite often angrily stating Well if that’s your attitude why don’t you go and live in Russia. Always a well made and informed statement to firmly put me in my place. It is quite annoying when people make pro royalty statements claiming that they speak for everybody this is clearly not the case. I will not be debating this subject further interesting as the subject may be. Football is much more interesting than any of the stuff we can do very little about and I am sure Tim Ream will be back to his best next season.

I don't doubt you're right in what you say Eddie, just that I've never experienced it. There are blowhards everywhere on both sides, all best ignored. As for Tim Ream, he'll benefit if Betts is back between the sticks but I think his back injury, and his age, will tell against him. Hope not, as he's a nice bloke by all accounts.

Arizonan I think you are right that we need Betts back between the sticks. Tim Ream certainly comes across as a nice guy and was a major factor in our promotion push. The guy appeared to be truly awful when he first joined us but in my humble opinion became our most improved performer as he gradually found his form and will prove a real asset next season. Opinion is divided probably based on his earlier efforts, also he is still prone to the odd gaffe or two. This is not really surprising over the course of our Premier League campaign as the supporting cast did not exactly inspire confidence.

Reese Oxford could be a nice acquisition for Fulham and fill that gaping hole at the back. I think he is on his way to a German side bot we can hijack this one depending on how much we can use Reese. He could play a role occupied by Chambers and draw a link up to our forward line. We could do a lot worse than Oxford, i think he could grow into a fine utility player...

Well that's three so called friendlies played, and the defence looks to have improved a little in these games, but isn't the game about scoring goals, and we haven't even scored ONE yet ! ! very worrying.

Knighthoods should come at the end of a career not 5 minutes after a achievement it is a reward for a exceptional or lifetime of achievement . Bradly Wiggins won the Tour de France, first time a brit had for 109 years and then Chris Froome wins it straight after 4 times and then Geraint Thomas neither get a knighthood. The same with Andy Murray surely it would have made more sense if he had got this reward at least after he retired, and if a team wins a world cup how many of them should get knighthoods ?

I agree with the sentiment that people should only get recognition when their career ends and not like Andy Misery Murray who got his while still playing. Joke. As for getting rid of the Royals I also agree that they as they bring in mucho spondulix that they should stay, with the exception of those obnoxious pompous harris holes Andrew and Edward who should immediately be hung, drawn and quartered with their organs removed and left to rot on Putney Bridge. As for the England cricketers the one who should recieve recognition should be Andrew Strauss who masterminded the regeneration of the 50 over side 4 years ago, also poor bugger lost his wife to cancer a few months ago so fair play to him. We all have to be careful not to let our antipathy towards a rival blind us to what is best for ourselves. If Steve Bruce is the best man available to manage Newcastle, the fact that he once managed Sunderland shouldn't prevent him from getting the job. If he is not the best candidate his Sunderland history is irrelevant. Newcastle would be damaging their prospects and by extension making life better for Sunderland fans if they don't take the best option for themselves. We should remember that when former Chelsea, QPR players or managers become available.
Replies
Hmmm methinks you completely underestimate the rivalry within north east football clubs. It pales anythng we have with Chelsea, QPR and Brentforn into complete insignificance.

There is nothng else in England to compare with it and only Celtic/Rangers rivalry would top it in my opinion but you have to have spent time up there to realise and understand it I believe....

Yeah, I get that there is a rivalry but the point is that Newcastle are doing themselves no favours by not going for the best man available, purely on the basis that he used to work for the "enemy". If they take a second best option and don't succeed, they'll be doing the same enemy a favour, surely not what they would have wanted. The deeper the rivalry, the more that should apply. As I said earlier, it would appear that your hatred of your rival outweighs your love of your own club, not a healthy state

Unfortunately, i can't see it working out for Steve Bruce at Newcastle. Yes Bruce is a Newcastle man but he has past connections with Sunderland. How will that register with the Newcie fans? There is no way Steve Bruce will get any love from those guys, no chance. Besides, they see Steve Bruce, Alan Pardew, and Harry Redknapp as filtered out managers who have done it and worn out the tee-shirt. One could even debate that Steve Bruce is more of a Championship Manager? How are the fans supposed to get past Benitez and his credentials? Brucie will have his work cut out for sure and we wish him all the best up there. Would we want him at Fulham??? I think not...

In my opinion, just because this website is run by Fulhamweb does not mean that the subject matter on a message board within the site should be excvlusive to comments about Fulham or just related to football.

As far as I'm concerened any "reasonable" subject is fair game provided that comment is within the law and I'm getting a little fed up that the moment someone dares digress from football or FFC they are reprimanded by someone who considers themselves the site policeman.

Equal opportunities for everyone I say and if you don't like it, don't comment on it and keep your views to FFC and football.

The Toon will never forgive him for what they consider treason for going over to the Mackems. Lee Clarke summed it up when he admitted that a major plus on joining Fulham was he didnt have to explain why he would have refused to play for Sunderland against Newcastle if he had to face the situation. Even Alex Ferguson said he was amazed that a Geordie would consider managing Sunderland

What a knob! While the rest of are trying come down from the euphoria and gather our senses, old Bertie Wooster just cynically sees an opportunity to make an idiotic bitter little jibe about how England can win without Europe. That's England with an Irish Captain, New Zealand match winner and a West Indian bowler who at 24 took on all the responsibility to bowl the last over. Everyone is thrilled with the quality of the match and the generosity and sportsmanship on both sides and we get this to throw cold water over the whole thing.

The reason European countries don't play cricket, is because almost all the countries that do, were part of the long gone British Empire. Because Britain ruled them for so long, they had time to learn the rules. Nowadays not many countries would have the patience to learn or want to play a game that can last for days.

As you will be aware, the progress of the redevelopment of the Riverside Stand has been one of the key issues the Trust has been involved in discussions with the Club about.

Over the course of the next few weeks, as we get used to watching Fulham from a temporarily three sided ground, the old structure will be demolished as work continues towards a new stand. You will be aware that part of the reasoning for the new stand is to be able to provide facilities on matchdays that were simply not possible in the old stand and income streams and local amenities on non-matchdays.

As a Trust, we have already been putting forward ideas to incorporate aspects of the Club’s history and heritage into the fabric of the ground, including where possible and appropriate, in the new stand. We have also put forward ideas coming from our membership and have encouraged the Club to ensure there is the opportunity for input from supporters prior to decisions being made on the fit out and matchday packages that will be available in the new, larger stand.

During next week, season ticket holders, members (including members from last season who may not yet have purchased a membership for 2019/20), and both seasonal and occasional hospitality package purchasers will be asked to take part in a preliminary survey by a third party organisation undertaking research on behalf of Fulham Football Club.

This is an important opportunity to provide some feedback on options, put forward your own ideas and give your opinion about what you would be interested in with the new stand. The survey has been designed to seek views on catering options, use of facilities before and after games and different seating options, and does so by asking you to rank between hypothetical options to test views. So it is an important opportunity to influence the way the Club approaches the configuration of the new stand early on and before any firm decisions have been made.

The Trust therefore encourages all of our members to take part in the survey and set aside the 15 to 20 minutes to complete it in full, if you are able to.

It will be an important element in the Club’s early consultation, and having pressed the Club on the merits of seeking views of supporters, we would like to see as many of our fanbase as possible – whether or not they have been regular spectators from the Riverside – to take part.

Only those who have opted in to receive information from Fulham will receive the survey. If you haven’t opted in (you may recall that when new data protection regulations were introduced recently then the Club had to ask people to actively opt-in to be sent information), and you want to take part in this survey, then you will need to do that here:

https://login.fulhamfc.com/Auth/Register.

Although this survey is not being carried out by the Trust, we are supportive of the Club taking supporters’ views seriously and so would like to see as many of our fans as possible taking part. If you do so, and there are specific issues arising from it that you would like us to pursue, then please do also let us know.

Great game but the pitch stopped dynamic batting which is what we want. When we had a proper pitch in the group game we stuffed NZ. Best team won.

Many of our Olympic team have come from other countries. Jo Konta, probably our best current tennis player, was born in Hungary, brought up in Australia and then came to Britain to be British. I doubt many tennis fans are complaining, or cricket fans about Ben Stokes.

I know many of you disagreed with my posting about Mitro yesterday, but watch him carefully next season. I honestly believe he thought he was playing Walking Football last season. Mitro, who by the way I think is a good player has a lot more to offer and yes of course once he gets the crossed balls in from the wings he will score more. Iam sure Scott Parker is aware of that and is going to try an resolve that for the team. Yes, defence was poor last season, they were out of their depth in our first season back in the Premier league. Shame Cahill or someone of his experience and stature was not brought in to the side, it was then what we needed and will again be that leading, captains role at centre back that we must get to have a top four finish. Ream by the way is excellent, but was lost without his partner Taggart at the back. Good luck Fulham.

I think we have reason to be cautiously optimistic for the coming season. A few key players have committed to Fulham for this season and last season's signings should do a lot better now that they have had time to settle and playing in a lower division, albeit for a longer campaign. Keep this squad more or less together, add a half-decent centre-half and give youngsters like MOR enough games and who knows?...

We don’t play the youngsters, we throw people in too early, this ones crap, that ones crap.....I was quite looking forward to the season but now I need anti depressants to get through it.

Haha, but probably not Rich. You can’t just buy players because you want them, there are many factors that could come into play like, does his club want to sell, does he want to come, does his wife want to live somewhere else, do his kids want to change school ?etc.etc. Not to forget can we agree a price? I suspect it isn’t like going to the toy shop with your wish list. According to FFC they’ve been trying to do a deal for a couple of years and only now have all facets come together, notably, Wolves are on the up and up and they no longer feel he fits into their plans.

Just been reading the reports on the game in portugal V Burnley. Depending on whose side of the match you are reading there are quite some variations, reading between the lines Parker seems to be concentrating on fitness, quite so,Burnley played several of their youth squad we appeared at full strenth. It appeared from the report we lacked wing power (this could soon be addressed) Christie aparently had the run around, but Bryan played well. We need to get the new players in and bedded down before our first match.

HA' Ha', My weekends are getting better and better, keep it up Mal, this will cheer MST up no end. Seriously though, big Mitro is our go-to striker, our solid rock. Mitrovic just needs that pace get-go and we still need another striker. I will not complain if we have Cavaliero, Knockheart, and whoever onboard. It will be a big season for Fulham and if we can stamp some authority on this Championships, we can be awesome. Cup Matches are always lucrative and important, and we need muscle like Kamara around. Give the guy a chance and we may even see improvements to his game. We had a good cup run a season or two back and Kamara was quite forward with his goals. Fulham paid 5 million for him and i don't think we have much to lose or that we are taking a serious risk. Tony Khan has more to lose than any other in this saga, and his head will be on the block if everything he is planning goes south. We are doing everything slowly and that is the way how we operate. Our biggest worry is our defence, we need to address those problems this season...

It's just the new way or controlling the population, keeping people in check with fear. First it was religion, then wars, now they have hijacked science to keep us in our place. Sadly, as you correctly point out, it's all about money now, no self respecting climate change denier gets a grant or a salary. You must agree or no dosh for you... science used to be about questioning everything, now it's about being on a gravy train. Anyway, back to the kitchen for me I have to learn vegan cooking cos it's so much more sustainable and ethical despite us having whopping great canine teeth which were obviously developed over thousands of years to rip through lettuce..

Anthony Knockaert from Brighton HA sounds good to me, as he always put in a shift. Mo Besic Everton from Everton would be a welcome addition to our midfield, although no youngster If that falls through Sander Berge from Genk is also a hard ball-carring midfielder. It looks like the powers that be have been put off by the asking price for Dwight Gayle from Newcastle United who are asking silly prices for their players as Mike Ashley seeks to get his money back. Kasper Dolberg at Ajax is young and enthusiastic as one Ryan Sessegon used to be or Sam Larsson at Feyenoord is also a good striker and gets goals, not to forget Yussuf Poulsen of RB Leipzig is a striker who is quick of the mark. Darly Janmaat of Watford is a very useful Right Back. What do you lot think?

It is estimated that it costs between 6 & 8 mill Per year to run the Academy,so work out what it has cost the club over the last 10/15 years. Our coaching scouting level is second to none at the acadamy only to develop for the piss takers, who cherry pick at will. If we were to get 20m for Seggers ?that would still leave us around 80mil out of pocket.Lets see for at least 4/5 seasons all smaller clubs abandon their youth sides and let the bigger clubs try and develop their tallent, you would then see the winging and whining start.

Academy not cheap but at that price I’d pull the plug waste of time. Can’t see the benefit. Presume the powers that be do if it’s that expensive to run an academy how comes lower league clubs persist

Cavaleiro to FFC no thanks , we really are scraping the bottom of the barrel also , let's send Mawson back to Swansea I didn't see much of him last year but what I saw was very disappointing ..slow and poor in the air . The way things are going with Seri , Anguissa , Le Marchand etc still around and no right back in sight finishing mid table will be a major achievement .

Personally I think Ivan Caveleiro would be a good fit and good signing for us. I don't see your problem to be honest as he's done ok for Wolves....

It’s only me! Always reading but not often posting…I think he could fit in well! Can see him getting around 15 or more goals with plenty of assists, working the wing and supplying Mitrovic. Think Caveleiro would be a perfect fit for us. He did well for Wolves and was a fans favourite. Could be a fantastic addition to our team. On loan With an option to buy so it’s a win win if you ask me !! We live to Dream. Onwards & Upwards. COYW

Some people need to stay realistic....Cavaleiro would be an excellent addition as he will give pace and power where Mitro gives power and goals. Defences will not know how to defend against a Mitro-Cava combo. Let’s get this deal done

Not sure why you think we should sign proven Premier League players when Fulham is in the Championship and I'm not sure why you believe that proven Premier League players would come to lil ol Fulham playing in the Championship. Thirdly FFP wouldn't allow us to spend those kinds of transfer fees and salaries and finally Caveleiro is proven in the Championship and according to SKY SPORTS he is having a medical today so all good from my point of view ;0).

We all said TK did well last season Phil and look what happened there!

Press reports that we are also leading the pack to sign Besic from Everton. Can't see that though.

KMac's interview on the official site says "we aren't looking to finish 5th or 6th, we want to win the thing"! Good to read but we all know what "want" gets ;0).

TK did make mistakes last season and I hope he has learned from them. I am prepared to give him the benefit of doubt. With Stef Jo and Kev Mac back in the fold and the majority of the team that got us promoted, with a few decent additions such as Caveleiro, I am feeling very positive about next season.

I think anyone who is upbeat about TK needs to listen to him on Fulhamish. I know it's a longish interview, but megolamaniac tw*t came to my mind. I wanted to listen to sense from someone who is learning & improving ( I would rather be wrong about him & see FFC successful than do a " I told you so" ). He is a rich man's idiot son, I'd love to see him run Chelsea, QPR or Brentford, but not Fulham.

Kunye' Cavaleiro will not be a flop. Nuno doesn't make many mistakes when he buys players. The Wolves squad has grown and grown and you need a nice big squad back in the prem. Maybe Cavaleiro got his nose pushed out? My only question is, Which side does Cavaleiro play on? left or right preference? I am liking what Parker is doing. I hope he brings more, especially our defence, we really need to give that some attention...

We are a bit slow on the uptake concerning transfer targets and this is typical of Fulham. Now we have the security of Mitrovic for a while, we still need some firepower up front. Okazaki is going begging on a free and we could well bring him onboard this season. At age 33 now, Okazaki i believe will still have some juice in the tank and can provide some assistance for Mitrovic. Not saying any of this will happen in a million years, but Okazaki i think can add a bit of quality to our attack providing we also add a pace-man such as assombolga? Okazaki i think has been used sparsely by Leicester in his career and he could be decent for this season. I think there is a chance that we could still hold on to Sessegnon because Spurs have some other targets to consider besides Sess. Why would Spurs get rid of a seasoned left-back in Rose for an inexperience Sessegnon whose best position isn't even left-back. There might be good reasons to delay transfers coming our way because we still have players we can't get rid off in a hurry. Seri is proving hard to off-load but maybe this is not necessarily a bad thing depending on which Fulham fan you talk to. We think Seri will not have time on the ball in the Championships because it is more frantic, but maybe if we are stuck with him, it might be to our advantage? The conundrum surrounding Seri is that his you-tube videos are better than his performances but maybe if he is stuck with us, he might just stir up something close to those pretty videos which look amazing. In the meantime, we could do a lot worse than acquiring the services of one Shinji Okazaki who is a megastar back in Japan. There must be a reason for such attention to Okazaki. The song goes, 'It's got to be Perfect' so lets go get a freebie in Okazaki and folks, we still have our super-sub in AK-47 Kamara! Why are we worried??? COME ON YE FULHAM!!!!!!!!!

Believe it or not, the Turkish club were desperate to sign Kamara for another year. He did not have a good start at the Turkish club and Kamara even went on the missing list over there. Kamara must have shown something to convince them and i think he has the right aggression, pace and determination to warrant another try with Fulham. The people who have most to lose and egg on their faces will be the Khans if Kamara fails to impress. Scott Parker might be a bit inexperienced but one good attribute he has picked up is an improvement on player understanding and relationships. We will have cup runs and we need a biggish squad. Kamara did play his part in our cup runs a few seasons back. Rest Mitrovic and Cavaleiro and play the likes of Kamara in cups competitions.

The "ugly American" personified, in more ways than one. As The Telegraph pointed out a few days ago, it's easy to admire the US team, but impossible to like them. Her frustrated outpourings are undermining the growing interest in the women's game and her foulmouthed insults to the President of the United States will alienate middle America and stifle development at the grass roots level. Twas ever thus; Hope Solo, now retired and a media pundit, previously held the honors for the biggest mouth. Strange isn't it, that the Manager and Coaches are seldom if ever interviewed. Irrespective of the number of pubescent teenage girls and their doting mothers, the women's game in America, like the dire Major League Soccer, is doomed to blossom and die in the harsh TV reality of NFL, Golf, Baseball and NASCAR. Nothing else will ever get sufficient support to justify network coverage. As to the feminist ultras that seem to make up half the team, they might try their luck against a lwo-ranking MLS team to see how good, or otherwise, they really are.

From a country that has always lead the way in sports marketing for decades it seems like who ever controls the women's game is not doing a great job.Megan Rapinoe statement "she did not plan to go to the f*cking White House." was ridiculous. Firstly it meant the team were split if some of the players wanted to go they would be made to feel they were being disloyal to her views, but more importantly it brought her political views into the game. In this country we do not know the political views of any of the big name players or how they feel about the government , Brexit or the monarchy which is how I think it should be. This sort of attention grabbing remarks is not going to make the game as don't forget Trump did win the election.

Is it worth the club retaining our acadamy,it must cost a considerable amount financially, for what, only to see the big boys cherry pick. I have watched many training sessions and matches at Motspur Park along with the plethera of scouts who would have outnumbered those attending a Baden Powell scout camp. Of the recent tallent that has passed through our doors have we benefited from the outlay ? ? ? Brentford are one of the teams who have abandoned their youth side, for as they put it,untill it becomes financially prudent to re install. And lets be honest the running of their club on a financial shoestring appears far more efficent than us,just look at their recent additions.

It also seems to me that with the ease larger clubs are able poach talent, they get the benefits for all our hard work...

Unless there are some changes to the rules enabling clubs to recover a proper transfer fee for poaching why would you bother with an academy?

Leave it to the big clubs do the hard work and meet the cost of bring through players who have little or no loyalty to the clubs that put in the effort to develop their talents.

That old chestnut doesn’t wash with me geezer. I don’t believe it is fair to compare the ordinary working Joe and his meagre wage with the obscene sums that are thrown at todays over indulged players. Also working in a factory office or any other monotonous environment cannot possibly inspire genuine loyalty. Earning mega dosh for playing football should just about be enough to inspire just a little. Obviously not in today’s game but I am still not buying the comparism and never will.

Are they all still on holiday ? Are we waiting for their present clubs to decide who they want and who can go out on loan ? Other clubs seem to have brought in a few players nice and early but we always leave it until final week , a ploy that has not worked well - even in our promotional season we were poor until December . Do we need to ship out before we ship in ?

The club ( not us ) got £12 million for Roberts who has hardly been pulling up trees and now languishes at Norwich. Dembele admittedly was stolen for half a million Hyndman has similarly retreated back to the US having disappointed at both Bournemouth and on loan in Scotland.
