Maybe ive missed something over the years but surely this team is no more than the prime example of 21st century football greed and fraud. No questioning that they are currently the best group of players in the PL,but thats just what they are a group formed by chequebook with no scruples with regards to the real spirit of football or home grown talent .Fortunately they have many a year to go before they can even glimpse Uniteds worldwide recognition. Let me elaborate. There are certain fair play financial rules evidently only applicable to the minnoes. If your team is owned by the mayor of doshtown who uses that name as its sponser then flogs as much cash in cos its perfectly legal. If you own an airline, then much the same applies. Aer lingus, Klm ,air france etc cannot be supported by their governments in times of trouble because EEC legislation considers this unfair trading. However if you are Demirates or batar no problem, its perfectly ok to run them at a loss and subsidise them with petrodollars .In fact they can produce accounts showing surplus which end up at city ,psg ….Someone below dared to compare with Brazil. Please please. That was probably the best footballing nation in history and not very ethical to put in the same pot.

AS good as city are at the moment, and they are great to watch ,if you dissect what they won still not good as united,to win the charity shield you only have to beat one team, to win the caribou cup you have to win 5/6 games, some times against crap opposition, same with F/A cup, win 6 games against maybe championship or lower teams , the league, different ,stamina, luck and good players are the order of the day, city have them all ,but and a big but when they step outside England!!!!!like I said not in united class yet.

Whilst City may be perceived as a footballing super-power, Pep's primary objective when he was appointed was not to win the domestic competitions (Mancini and Pellegrini had already done this). He was brought in to dominate European football, which so far has been fruitless

Pep Guardiola is just a brilliant coach and we shouldn't begrudge him his success or City's. I remember Stirling could not even kick a ball straight and he missed chances millimetres away. Now an improve Stirling and England benefits immensely. I wonder what he could do with a left back who isn't really a left back, who plays right wing and left wing and is baffled and confused in what his role his??? Guardiola is the reason why self-proclaimed genius Mourinho couldn't take the heat in English football anymore. I hope Scott Parker learns a few things from watching pep football. I can't blame Sessegnon for slinking off to pastures new with how we play him...

Not sure Sessegnon is "slinking" anywhere, he will get a good offer from a top club and he will leave to hopefully improve his game and go on to get a lot of full England caps- let's all wish him well

I just cannot believe the club not only not put season tickets up for sale, have not made any statement on the plan. This is very unprofessional and in any business, it just isn’t acceptable!! I have defended the club on many occasions including the bad transfers but this is just extremely amateurish! Come out and tell the fans what is going on!? We appreciate the complexity with the new build but we just want to hear what is the plan. We are the customers and on this occasion we are not treated with proper transparency or consideration!

Like thousands of others I have just watched today's FA Cup Final, and to my mind, Manchester City are spoiling everything for all the other teams, and they just humiliated Watford this afternoon, which wasn't really nice, for a major final. Who is going to stop their charge now. I suppose it can only be Liverpool, as the rest don't seem to have any chance. City are the Celtic of the Premier League.
Replies
Yeah - probably could have kept it at 5-0. I don’t think Vincent wanted the six - you saw his Facebook to Troy. They will get another 100 points next season...and will probably score 200 goals. Premier league is in danger of being low formula one (or the Scottish premier league) too predictable and only ever one winner...

Man City are winners, I wish that the Fulham players had the same attitude. No successful side are good losers. IF IT WAS FULHAM AT THE TOP I AM SURE THAT ALL TRUE SUPPORTERS WOULD BE WANTING NO ONLY SIX BUT SEVEN. I was lucky enough to at the cottage when we beat Ipswich 10 -1. Watching Haynes grab the ball from the back of the net when number 8 went in and rush to the centre circle to restart the game as quick as possible to score more.

Crikey! Talk about sour grapes! Each and every Man City player gives everything they have in every game. They work hard to get to the top of their profession and become successful in their chosen sport and I for one think that is remarkable and admirable! I don’t recall anyone saying Yusain Bolt is ruining athletics or Anthony Joshua ruining boxing or Steve Redgrave ruining rowing or Ian Thorpe ruining swimming or, or, or. In my opinion people who reach the pinnacle of their careers are to be admired not admonished. Shame on you...

Bit harsh Doggo, he was playing out of position much of the time. Anyone else think it's odd how all these other interested clubs still think he's a left back? He couldn't play there in the Championship and only really shone when we got Targett in and pushed him forward.

Possibly the worse move who could make. He would develop into a much better player under the guidance of Pep, Klopp or even Poch. There are some parallels there between how Utd & Fulham are run.....Stay away Sess, hold out for a club where you will thrive.

Even if Man U offer £40m against Spurs £25m? Sess doesn’t want to sign a new contract so as a club, we maximise his value. Anyway - there’s more chance him playing for Man U than Spurs at the moment. He will not get a game at Liverpool - he’s no where near Robertson or Mane.

See what money is laid out first, Utd always pay over the odds so we will see. Just think he'd develop into a better player under one of those 3 I mentioned. But saying that Ole is at the wheel so we will see haha.

Defender or headless chicken? The England U21's (when he does manage to get off the bench) see him as a forward, whilst potential buyers/FFC don't really know what category he falls into. Take the big bucks because 3M is probably the true valuation

At the moment Man U seem to be "interested" in about 40 players, Spurs would probably suit him better, can still live in or near London should he wish

whatever club he is rumoured to be joining, out of the three suggested, the point is, he wont play every week and his progress would be held back playing as a sub or in cup games. the best solution could be to let us keep him on loan for next season, at least he would get regular starts. oh yes, and dogberts valuation of him is, lets say politely, misguided, a bit like his first post, and the next one due up soon--.

Listen, I like RS - he's a good lad, but unfortunately the defensive side of his game is nowhere near up to PL standard, whether he is at LB or further forward. His ball retention is poor, and tracking back is a struggle. Take the biggest cash pot because filling RS's boots will not be a problem, but addressing our other failings will need every penny of his transfer fee!!

Source; Evening Standard

Controversial striker Aboubakar Kamara will be given a chance to resurrect his Fulham career by Scott Parker.

Kamara was cast out on loan to Turkish side Yeni Malatyaspor for the second half of the season after he was arrested in January on suspicion of actual bodily harm and criminal damage, following allegations of a fight at Fulham’s training ground.

Parker wants the 24-year-old to return for pre-season training, when he will assess his squad and weigh up whether to keep him.

Kamara joined Fulham from French club Amiens for £5million in 2017.

Stefan Johansen, who spent the second half of the season on loan at West Brom, will also return to Fulham in pre-season.

Great news MST, and i would like to add that one Stefan Johansen is also back for the new season. My only worry is a transfer budget for Scott Parker, will he get one? Build from what we have by all means, but we also need fresh faces around our team. I am happy for Kamara and i hope he comes back with his shooting boots. I still think we need another striker, the more the better. Our defence is terrible and it wasn't much better in the past. I hope we can work on this problem and bring in fresh blood where necessary. Scott Parker needs to be ruthless and drop those who make too many mistakes. I hope the Khans can fix this with hard cash... P.S, nice touch from Kamara above, i knew he had a heart, he loves Fulham...

Terrible, if not unsurprising news. I think this signals that Mitrovic is going & Tony is pulling Parker's strings. Add this to the average journeymen players whose contracts have been extended ( Ayite, Kebano, Odoi ), the very likely loss of Sessignon & the return of good loanees to their clubs, ( Chambers etc, ) a promotion season seems unlikely. We could struggle next season, although a low mid table finish seems more likely.

We will also have Fonte coming back from loan spell with French Club . He has a lot to prove . Pity about Chambers as like several here , i thought he was one our best players and could be very good in the championship . But Arsenal seem to have problems in midfield so maybe he sees opportunity there . Whoever we do sign we need to get them in early so they can adjust and we have a shape and system (s) ready for the off . Bringing in 8 players on the last day of the window does not work

Parker might well be a yes-man and is doing as he is told, but i only see him lasting 6-8 games. Are we in a bad or good position? Time will tell. There is a flash sale and there will be good money floating around. The Khans might well be correct if holding back on spending in the Scott Parker era. Let us see how we kick off the season in the Championships and how the likes of Aite, Kabano, and who is left onboard perform. This is a good test for Scott Parker and traditionally Fulham always have time to pull back any bad start to our season. One problem might be an experienced manager and there are no takers around at the moment. Maybe Bielsa of Leeds might be available? We don't know anything yet. It is important not to look at our situation negatively and think we are heading into free-fall. We are Fulham and we will recover quickly in a crisis. Scott Parker will have his opportunity as skipper and he has the best help available in Stuart Gray and others on board. There will be no hiding place or any missed opportunities for fringe players on bord now. Aite, Kabano, and whoever will need to get over any injury hiccups in close season and come out of the shadows and prove they deserve a shot at Fulham. Over to you Scott Parker and all the best. 'You have 6-8 games in my opinion, entertain us!!!!!!!!

yes, let sorry go, but mitro is on a long term contract with a huge buy out clause, something that most premier league clubs probably couldn't afford,. take away the top six, where he probably would not play regularly anyway. the sessegnon debate is likely to rage on, with all likelihood of him going ,we cant stop that, and then at spurs consigned to the bench, when he could stay next season and get his confidence back. at the end, it will be all down to currency.it would be good to get targett again, and also two new centre backs, preferably both over six feet tall , who can actually head the ball and compete for it.

I think Jokanovic was prepared to change. He was trying things (more defensive with each game) out but his philosophy is not that of, say Warnock. Most fans don’t want that anyway. Ranieri was stubborn and he tried to shake the trees with the wrong tool... it killed and then collapsed onto him!

Two of our goals nominated for goal of the season! Watching those goals again reminded me how good we were (at least for one game) and how we blown Burnley away playing the football we can only dreamed off in the premier league. It's such a shame we weren't able to continue and I wonder again if we only given SJ another half dozen games to improve the defending, what season we would have had! But hey - let's not look back in anger...

All too late now of course John, but I think after the away Liverpool game, that SJ had worked out how to use these players. We could not have done worse after that. The away Huddersfield did shake a lot of people's faith though.

A dozen defeats could have been turned into draws - wonder how far off we would have been. Might not have drifted away so much. Weird timing after the Liverpool game to sack SJ, even though we lost it was a much better performance. But then decisions made all season were strange

After 2 mainly successful seasons with FFC , TK wasnt sure Kallas was right for us . He was maybe too consistent , didnt get injured much , always reliable - where was the fun in that . Much better spending a shed load of money on unknowns with no track record in English football . Pity as i think Kallas was ready to commit to club . At least with Fonte and Kamara returning to us after hugely successful loan spells , we dont need to be looking for new forwards !!

Looks like we will lose Ryan this summer. Which is a shame but we will hopefully get a fair price for him.
Regarding who we bought with the £100 Million last year in particular Zambo, Anguissa and Seri for about £70+ million what happens now ? will we get much of this money back if they moved on or can we even move them on. They probably had clauses in there contracts they could leave if we were relegated but how does that work if no one wants them.

Can Chris Coleman the other Welsh Rabbit, sorry Wizzard replicate his international form into Fulham? I would have said, give the guy a shot, he is available after his low profile sacking back in China. He just didn't do enough first time around for me. I would take Chris Coleman if only we could also sign Gareth Bale. Sadly none of this nonsense is going to happen, so we might as well go with Parker. 'Scotty' 'Ya got 6-8 games to impress' then it's over to you 'Michael Laudrup'. Apparently, Laudrup is fed up with this coaching lark and he as sworn that his current job in Qatar will be his last. Laudrup at the age of 54 is bored with the repetition of coaching, and he wants out. Poor Michael is just not feeling it at the moment but give him until the end of summer, and he will be pining for the bright lights of London. A swanky flat over the Thames, and 6 million quid a year in his bank account, and throw in some wrinkles and pickles? Sorry make it Jellied Heels' Winkles and Pickles are for that other lot, those Hammer boys. We are a bit more cultured and up-market this side of the Thames. Over to you Senior Khan''' 'GO'GO GET' MICHAEL LAUDRUP' After the 6 weeks holidays when the kids have gone back to school will do us fine.....

Was yesterday Ryan S, final swan song, down by the river Thames? Rumours have it, he’s gone to Spurs already, and his poster boy images on our website appear to have been replaced with Ayite. In fact our sale images only appear to be displaying the images of those who have been confirmed to be staying for next year. TC, FA, DO Or am I reading too much into something.

As long as we get a decent price for him why not,he’s a great prospect but like the players around been very disappointing.Good luck to him

how can he have already gone ? of course rumours will abide, but there is so much fake news nowadays, you don't know what to believe is lies, and what is lies. ,now, I know that sess will leave eventually, in fact he will probably play in la liga by the time he is 21, but after the season he has just had, surely a move to a club where he will get so little games, is not really going to help his progress? I know I am probably clutching at the flimsiest of straws in hoping he stays another season, but has anyone actually seen a direct quote from ryan, stating he wants to go to spurs?.

Why? They had a shocking second half of the season. Why, we even beat them! Evidently there was something seriously wrong in their squad that he just couldn’t sort.

Being local, and following the fortunes of Brighton, I can assure you that the fans were fed up to the back teeth with him, and they are so pleased that he has gone. He would be no good to us at all.

Brighton will go down next season. The fans are fickle. FA cup semi-final and stayed in the division. Decent players are not exactly queuing up banging down the door to sign for Brighton. At the very least should have been sacked if things didn't improve next season

Chris Hughton will be at the Cottage next season. But thankfully it will be with West Brom. ( If he lasts that long there)

Sky Sports Report that Odoi, Johansen, Ayite & Kebano have signed 1year contract extensions which is pleasing knowing they are more than capable in the championship - I can’t help thinking..But what is their incentive? Apart from Odoi the other 3 barely played this season, that’s some reward for helping the team gain promotion! We must show more loyalty in future & likewise how do said players who are unproven in the Premier League gain such experience?? Answers on a a Tiny postcard, mailed to Tiny Khan ;)
Replies
I agree, I think loyalty is sparse on both sides of the coin, but why are they willing to come back? Likely their lives are here in the UK, they get paid and it's likely a better shop window and proving ground - Johansen was once Captain of his national side . . .

they didnt sign one year extensions the club had the option and took it..as they wouldnt get any fees for any of they didnt take the option..Would be highly unlikely to see Stef come back but they want some money for him...
posted by rich (Guest) - Monday 13th May 2019, 2:30 PM

Why on earth did they give Odoi an extension, he is a liability in the side and you know he will make at least 2 vital mistakes every game. Also Kebano is a headless chicken with very little skill. Doesn’t look like a rebuilding programme more like getting players on the cheap.
posted by Roger young (Guest) - Monday 13th May 2019, 3:33 PM

It’s easy to be critical off players. As we have found out, it is even more difficult to sign players who will be robust and consistent! Kabano and Odoi are good bench players for the championship. Mac and johansen both past their best. Ayite is a good player but needs to find an identity for the fans. We need to buy 3-4 solid British players to complete the team for the championship.

Johansen is 28 and arguably still has a 'best' season' ahead of him. Mac is 30 and will not be anywhere near looking like he can't hold his own in the Championship.

I'm not so worried about the squad - more the tactics to stop the opposition. Hopefully Scotty does a good job. If we do go up i'm not convinced we will hang around again but i hope he proves me wrong

For those who sit there, how was it? A nice send-off? Now we ground share because hte pitch is being lowered.
Replies
Is the lowering of the pitch by some 2 mtrs to do with fitting in the additional capacity. The last time this was muted the London archaeological society was involved, mainly because in early victorian times part of the site was a rubbish tip. Now in the 21st century the rubbish at Craven Cottage is above ground

So we have exercised our options on 4 players for another year. That’s great news as I like them but what about continuity if we go up next season? We can’t hedge our bets with short term contracts - we either believe in them or not. Thought the idea to tie players to long term contracts. Secondly looks like we want tot regroup the group of players played so well for us when we got promoted - I hope we are not naive to believe they will still be good enough for the championship. The league is tougher by the year and all the players have aged. Lastly if we want to plan properly - don’t think because it’s the championship, we don’t need a right back, better Keeper, another striker, proper wingers etc. We need to invest on players with potential to continue in the premier league.

Hats off for your optimism John, but sadly we will be nowhere near the promotion places. Our primary objective will be to stay in the Championship

Alot of talk at the ground yesterday that we might be ground sharing but we aren't happy with Loftus Road but there is no where else viable so club are in a right mess with it. Also, constructors aren't happy having a live site for the duration of the building works so a ground share is best option. It is going to be a miserable few years that's for sure. And, why the club feel they can't communicate with season tickets holders is beyond belief, even if to just say we are working on options. The silence is what is wrong.

l first heard this rumor about a possible ground share at the wolves away game and have spoken to Riversiders who say they haven't even been contacted by the club yet, So totally agree us fans are left in the dark again

I have my own views on the Khan stewardship of our team (or not) . . . ahem . . . But one thing I will say firmly is that ever since the Khans took over, communication between fans and the club is awful, sporadic at best and not even close to the way it was when Al-Fayed was in charge. With Al-Fayed at the helm you would get a magazine, regular emails, even text messages at times keeping you up to date and making you feel a part of what was/is going on.

Agree John ...Brighton were woeful 2nd half of season but Hughton has a good track record of getting teams out of the Championship...and let's be fair he kept Brighton in the Pl for two seasons. As Simon Jordan stated on Talksport Fulham are a broken club and do not need a rookie manager; he stated that it would not be good for Parker and fears for his development.

Lets give Parker a chance. I couldn't see even a single victory on the cards when he took over, and he coaxed some out of what is a battered and dysfunctional squad a best. Judge him next season not this one . . .

Today’s performance was horrible, without a redeeming feature. I’m afraid that Parker’s appointment was premature, at best. It is abundantly clear that we are in a complete mess and, unless a miracle happens between now and August, we will begin the new season on the back foot, with a change of manager within a very short period, the most likely outcome. I would love to know why it was deemed necessary to appoint Parker before our final game, and can only guess it was to persuade the outside world that the Khans have a plan. Well, if that is the case, once again, they’ve screwed up

OMG wind it in, one meaningless game and it’s full scale negativity. I bet you have FFC down for relegation next season as well. I am glad Khan has some loyalty. Parker has done well. Arter maybe coming. Half of today’s team are gone and none are Parker’s. We rebuild. It’s what we do. We don’t moan and bellyache. We get behind the team.

Well said Phil nothing game lot players holding back not wanting to get injury including Chambers whose been top class Mawson feeling his way back Cairney looked only one giving his all Harvey looked promising when he came on. And got to hand it to Babel noes his leaving game lost when he came on but showed he’s class and tracked back. Next season time to Judge

Sorry to keep harping on but yesterday was not a Meaningless game. It was a Premier league match and to lose 4-0 at home shows great disrespect for those who paid good money to attend .Compare us to Cardiff who though relegated gave their fans a real treat by beating Man Utd. Anybody's guess what next season will bring but for me this one ended on a very sour note. Anyway folks enjoy your summer and we will continue to give our " expert " comments next season !

in the previous few games, it was visibly clear players were prepared to throw their bodies (look at Odoi and Le Merchand clash) to block the ball. with such commitment we managed to get some points and the main reason why Cardiff were only 2 points from being safe! Maybe apart from Cairney, I didn't see any of that yesterday...I really just hope it was the case most players didn't want to risk injury - and not a reflection of the quality we for one moment thought was good enough for the champ!
posted by John (Guest) - Monday 13th May 2019, 10:36 AM

It was a shocker of a game, but be realistic, we are down and no matter what level of professionalism expected of any of those players out there would you honestly want to be on the hospital bed all summer because of some injury big or small? Lets give Parker a chance. I couldn't see even a single victory on the cards when he took over, and he coaxed some out of what is a battered and dysfunctional squad a best. Judge him next season not this one . . .
