Matt Ritchie ( Newcastle ) is not having his contract renewed in the summer according to the press. He's 30 yrs old, but I think he's the sort of player we should be trying for as he could in my opinion, be fantastic in the championship & good for a season in the prem too, if we have the ambition.

Not mobile enough? You must be watching a different O'Riley.. We have watched him every game he's played this season. He has covered more ground inn EVERY game apart from 2 (27 games) than any other FFC player..thats one thing..secondly we rate all players (we are an agency Im an FFC fan) per match. Its based on lots of things includong forward passes in his case, assists, chaces created key passes etc.. He has been clear top rated player (MOTM) in the following.. Man Utd (home and away) Norwich away Wolves (home and away) Colchester cup (home and away) Leeds cup (away)NUFC (away). He has been in top 3 in every game apart from one. All the people including myself watch as well as use stats. Has more assists than anyone else .. Best passing percentage chances created etc etc..Is top for chances created and key passes across both 2 divisions..and those are impritant stats..I could go on and on..the crime is his face doesnt fit I believe he dumped his last agent who happens to be Parkers. And didn't sign with another that Club officials are friendly with..lots will say thats drivel but when you speak to peole at the club..nearly everyone thinks he should have been in the squad from the beginning of season (oh and if you look at the preseason games and Murcia games for first team he was in top 3 in all of them) If you speak to first team playres ((I have) they think he is premiership class and above..Oh and last season he played large parts apparently with growth injury in his back..Personally it shows how seedy this club is..Hopefully he will get a shot but from what ive seen if FFC wont offer him a contract he'll be off in next 12 months if not sooner..
posted by SW (Guest) - Friday 19th April 2019, 11:39 AM

Agree with everything above from SW and also I believe Kunye to be right..Slav had him in first team all the time training etc..He would have played him (He did have him on bench for Millwall I believe)..PArker has self interest first. Elliot is not deserving of the place (not that he isnt good) but FFC want money for him when he leaves in summer and therefore tribunal value will be higher Steve Sess absolutely doesnt warrant a place if its based on performance as he's been average at best for 23's but he's a Sessegnon. I would say almost everyone agrees O'Reilley has been the best 23 by far this season..

O.K. Eddie Howe has got AFC Bournemouth winning again, but against Brighton HA, where is Lewis Dunk now I ask, because Brighton HA are on the ropes worse than we ever were right now. Sooo our lads should not worry too much about their recent victory because AFC Bournemouth too had lost the previous nine games B4 Brighton! COME ON FULHAM. Glad to see that someone in Management read my post some time back and seem to be on the trail of Dwight Gayle. Good lad done well this season, we would have used him. Tammy Abraham is out of the reckoning, as he has plumbed for going off to Deutschland like so many other half decent "English ?" players. Is Timmy Abraham still at Fulham or Jose Morineo's lad who plays in goal.

It doesn't take a lot of figuring out or explaining, and deep down in most Fulham fans guts, we know we have squandered our chances for prem football next season. Yes' every time we look at the league table, it clearly points out that we are 2nd from bottom and we are relegated. Call me nuts' and a dreamer or whatever, but i still believe that we are better than we have shown this season. Our recruitment was naively sticky-plastered together and costly too, with the likes of Anguissa costing 30 million and breaking our transfer record. Yes' at first glance, i and a lot of fans thought we had acquired a War- Horse or the equivalent of buying a stake in Shergar. Emotions turned to anger and disappointment running through most of our season when game after game we witness total failure in our team to get results. The likes of our talisman Tom Cairney passing the ball from side to side, Tom no clue, Tom not prem material and so on. Seri the best of the newbies some say not up to it in the prem, even though he has played successfully for Ivory Coast, Porto and Nice, yet not prem class according to self-appointed experts. Why can't we figure out and accept a feasable possibility that we just didn't gel enough and considering our sticking plaster attempt to buy in a short time and add well thought of players onto a team that gained promotion as a unit just didn't work out in good time. Leicester and Wolves are in 7th and 8th and Everton in 9th? Hey' i might be the biggest dreamer along with 'Somewhere over the Rainbow, but it doesn't take a genius to work out that 'Everton' have failed in their season and massively underachieved way down their usual standards. Even Liverpool fans will say that. We beat Everton good and proper and some say that it was not a big deal etc. Even a long way before the Everton win, i and a lot of Fans were scratching their heads and trying to work out why we were playing silly football. Confidence is is a big detail that we are lack of this season and there is a lot of finding out concerning our leaky defence. We are dropping down a division and there should not really be an urgency to change much personnel. It was a mistake to blood in too many players at the first time of trying and i think now finally this Fulham team looks like it is settling down and gelling, why go-go spend money now we are dropping down. Possibely we will need right-back if Christie isn't up to it, and defensively we are shakey but nothing new. I would like to see us improve with Mawson and the new foreign guy come back from injury. Still call me daft or silly, but i think that we Fulham put ourselves in a situation and an impossible position of self-destruction. We are better than the likes of Cardiff etc and we know it, yet the league table says different...

Paying £800 for a season ticket and watching us getting battered every game vs paying £400 (hopefully!) and watching more competitive football. Maybe it’s a blessing in disguise.

I used a friends season ticket last night and went to see Brighton play Cardiff, and I can in part, back Owen up, inasmuch as compared with these two teams, on last nights showing we are miles ahead of both of them, based on last Saturday's display. Brighton are a shadow of the team that we beat at CC, and as for Cardiff, well yes they did score one good goal, and one by very bad marking by Brighton, but otherwise they looked very ordinary. According to some of the Brighton fans they should have had a penalty for handball early on, but it was up the other end to me, and I didn't see it,but I am sure that we will put paid to Cardiff's Premier League visit, when we beat them in our next home game, and that will prove that we will have more chance of a quick return to the top, than Colin and his poor outfit next season. I think that I read recently on this site, that AC will at least be watching Premier League football next season, as he will go to Brighton to watch it. That could be doubtful now AC, although quite honestly I don't think that Cardiff have any chance of staying up. I must agree that over the season Cardiff have proved to be better fighters for points than us, but now that Scotty has taken over, we have improved in leaps and bounds, and we are at this moment, a far better team than either Cardiff or Brighton, at least at home. I will be going to Bournemouth on Saturday, so I will see for myself what our away form is like. COYW

May I respectfully point out, the league is not a cup competition. The best teams are those that consistently beat other teams each week over the duration of a season. A team, doubtless, can perform above expectations on a given day and go against perceived wisdom/form. Hence, the uniqueness that is the FA Cup. This does not make them a better team. Unfortunately, Fulham FC have been consistent in one aspect alone, their ability to leak goals, and inability to score them. On our overall performance this season, we are justifiably relegated. We are not a better team than Everton, albeit we did beat on Saturday, when we were better , I doubt we would beat them were we to play them tomorrow. Every team that finishes above us, is better than us, would it were different, but it isn’t, get over it and pray our abysmal management can get there act together.

Premier league is so competitive now we have got what we deserved. We have to compete for every ball and minimise the mistakes or you get done and this season we have had no settled team and some players have not been on it for the full 90 minutes. At least next season we can look forward to competing for 90 minutes which should at the very least give us a chance in matches, whichever players are with us next season. Learn from our mistakes and have another go

Cardiff winning 2-0 by the way (another game that's not a draw - at the moment) which puts Brighton right back in the mix and giving us the chance to relegate Cardiff.

Did anybody else notice that Tom Cairney played with a much more aggressive style on Saturday? He was more like Johansen as he hassled players and had a few significant tackles in the process. I'd like to think it's a new side of him emerging. Skeptics sat beside me at the match said he's trying to put himself in the shop window for a transfer to another club. I hope he stays.

Owen you do write some nonsense sometimes. He has had one "half" decent game where he scored (his first goal of the season!!), wasn't knocked off the ball too easily and didn't spend half the game rolling around the floor feining agony. Cairney, in my opinion, is not and will never be much more than a decent Championship player and he certainly is not Premier League material.

Arizonan' i have always rated Tom Cairney. I was being sarcastic and trying to get over what some fans were saying about him. I even dropped in a quote ' Self-appointed experts' in my top post which was more than a history lesson? For the record, i am also a self-appointed expert on here, we all are to an extent, we all have strong opinions about our team. It is a pointless exercise to go through past quotes on what is said in the heat of the moment on here, especially this season. I like Joe Bryan, but sometimes this season, he has done some daft defending and i have slated the guy. Football gets you like that. I didn't particularly want Parker in charge, but he is surprising me and keep it up, we should back him...

Oh what a change it is to be able to read the papers over then weekend and today, with absolute delight of not only a Fulham win, but praise all around from everyone. How I have missed this type of weekend this season. Even more exiting, is now reading that our players like Tom Cairney, will be committed to staying with us next season, to give it another shot. Yes, there is talk of Mitro leaving, but he has signed a long term contract, so unless some colossal amount is offered, which we couldn't afford to turn down, he should be staying. We will need a couple of new players to freshen the squad up so with real determination to go for it, encouraging some really good players should not prove difficult. Newcastle made a quick return a couple of seasons ago, so why shouldn't we ?

All sounds lovely, but I do hope that, if we do return to the Premiership, we will have a different Board overseeing the transition, even if Khan remains at the helm. I would hate to go through what we have, this season

Championship will not be a walk over even if we keep our best players! Unless we have a unified and committed team -will be difficult to finish in the top 2 with this lot!!

Khan will be secretly smiling. Players like Anguissa cost the money and it now looks like some of ours needed more time to bed in. If we keep our squad together? We won't spend much next season. Arguably, a right back is needed? Joe Bryan looks like he can improve even further. It is not a bad thing to have late bloomers, it hurts a little bit because we got relegated. If we are able to keep Mitrovic, he will be a nightmare playing against him. All we need now is a pacy forward up front, and i hope Parker makes good use of our youngsters like O' Reilly... Ease back on the spending next season will see us in good stead financially and that is important for small clubs like ours in the long run...

Quite amazing really. You were all screaming like schoolgirls for a complete clean out of this massively underperforming squad and now, after one win against an Everton team that didn't turn up, we just need a pace man up front. The leakiest defence in european football is thus exonerated and the completely absent midfield pardoned and all raised to the standard of Championship winners. I see the Kardashian RT Binoculars are even more powerful than I thought. Must be the new "whitewash" button which corrects all flaws and erases the memory module.

And it won't take 10 years of trying, waiting, and crying. Let's do it back in the Championships!! Keep our team together, even Anguissa who failed to live up to expectations. I really hope we hold onto Anguissa next season . I think he will be a powerhouse in the championship for us. I thought he was very good again yesterday. Resigned to losing Mitrovic and Babble, although they would terrorise the championship! Seri, and all the loan players will leave and I do not see them really inhibiting our progress. (Chambers exempt) Anguissa however is starting to show why we spent all that the money on him, albeit I accept the price we paid for him, he has yet to show a real return. Fingers crossed for next season though !

Anguissa, Cairney, Chambers, Babel and Mitro. If we can gamble and pay high salaries to keep these players - plus one right back we can dominate the championship!!

I think you'll find that tremendous is better than average Ollie, and (admittedly rather late to the party) Anguissa has been tremendous in the last five matches and seems to be getting better. With a fit Mawson and hopefully Chambers behind him he will dominate most championship midfields and provide Cairney with the platform he needs to perform.

Let’s not get carried away! Everton were not at their best yesterday. Even if they were, don’t think we have green shoots on the back of one game. Remember the wins after Burnley, Huddersfield and Southampton! If we can win 3 or our remaining 5 games (all winnable and apart from Cardiff they have not much to play for) then we may have turned the corner and we can start thinking about the green shoots! Remember the players player well yesterday - Babel, Anguissa, Chambers and maybe even le merchard will not be around next season!

That win against Everton made me feel ecstatic and a little sad all at the same time. I am not an expert and i don't have the answers to unravel why we are in this mess. Tony Khan and his player selections is the obvious answer? I just wonder now, if we keep most of this squad going back in the Championships, we might just click? Some are hinting that some of our newbies are playing out of their skin for a move? The truth maybe is we didn't gell or click into most of our season in the prem and there are obvious reasons for this. Too many players coming into a newly promoted squad is maybe one answer. I am not an expert and it is pointless to now point blame. If there is a mini-run of winning games to end our season? We should just enjoy it and hope that the nucleus of our squad stays together. There is an obvious ability within, and if we are able to access some of our talented youth into our team, we might have a super squad which can blitz the Championships next season and bounce straight back up. If we can gain promotion the first time of asking after our complex and strange season? Our little Fulham could be a theatre of dreams and Hollywood and a book and a film is bursting to come out of its burrow if that is the right word. COME ON YE FULHAM!!!!!!

Perhaps the lack of pressure helped them play more to their true potential...but they will face pressure again next season as no doubt the expectation on them will be to bounce straight back-up to the Premier League..

I didn't know whether to feel happy or sad yesterday. Of course I was extremely happy with the result, and especially the way we played, but I was on the other hand sad, that we won't be playing in this league for at least another year, which is a real shame. What I can't understand though is the attitude by some of our players, so it is reported, towards not playing in the Championship. The question is why ? The Championship is world renown for being one of the best leagues in the world, even better than most major leagues in other European countries, so why wouldn't our so called stars want to prove themselves in this division. The likes of Babel, Seri and Chambers, should be encouraged to stay, along with Mitro, Cairney and Sessingnon, who I understand are already saying that they will stay. We will be hot favourites to go straight up, if we can keep most of this squad together, and the players owe us supporters at least one shot at it, as it is them that have put have had us relegated, and not us fans, who have been behind them every game, even when we are losing. Scott Parker should also be left as our Manager if he proves himself over the next few games, as there is no manager on earth who could have started off with such a bad set of fixtures that he had, and even then we were so unlucky not to have had more points out of those games. There is not one team in the Championship as good as Everton, so go on lads stick with us, and you will soon be back where you belong.

We have some talented players maybe to many came in at once. But so much depends on the Managers and SJ and CR both could not get best out of them. And lm not saying Parker is the Answer after one game . You can blame players don’t know why can’t work out things on there own. But just look at Palace last time we went down looked in right mess when we won there 4-1 changed manager stayed up same when RH took over at place adrift at bottom same with us when RH took over

GOOD WIN at last for the guys today for sure...restored a little pride back! ...just makes you so MAD/HURT/GUTTED that we could’t put together similar performances with wins against other Prem teams... have generally punched well below our weight this term for various different reasons. Well hey-ho such is life let’s hope we can re-group and embrace that team spirit and ability which sprung us back to Prem... with swift return! Khan senior is a successful/wealthy businessman and in that sense used to being on the winning team... if he’s going to stick around hopefully has learnt by his mistakes in appointing baby-Khan as head of recruitment (job for the boy!) ...which’s been a complete disaster/major reason for swift relegation. So the lesson is PLEASE don’t treat FFC as a family-hobby...this is OUR Club... time now to make quality appointments with professional personnel who KNOW the game to help Fulham get back to where we wanna be! We’ve all had enough of losing so many games and now looking forward to hopefully winning lots of games and bounce back to Prem stronger! HERE’S HOPING FRIENDS! ...COYW...FULHAM FOREVER!

I am sure we haven’t completely turned the corner but next four games will be interesting to see how committed the team is to finish the season on the high! My only wish left for the season is finishing above Cardiff!! We can do it if we play the next four games as committed as today and avoid any individual errors as we have today!

What a brilliant performance today, and against a side that had just beaten Arsenal. Why the hell have we left it so late though to put on such a good show. On today's showing we are a lot better than many teams in the bottom half of the table, and we should not ben going down. However, we must be odds on favourites for a quick return, especially as Mitro says that he will be staying with us next season, and that's a big plus. Now that we have broken our rotten run, let's go for our first away win against Bournemouth next week, and then go all out to win our last two homes games, against two very ordinary looking sides in Cardiff and Newcastle. I am not Parkers biggest fan but saying that i would back him on this performance. We can all say that is only one game, but we beat a decent Everton side today and that is a big deal in my eyes. If Mitrovic stays, that might persuade most of the others to stay. Guy's, we should be happy and excited if we keep most of our squad. Even the likes of Anguissa is a prospect. We could seriously smash the championships next year with this squad and we should use some youth like O'Reilly. No danger of a transfer embargo if we keep what we have. I am happy to say this, i would rather stick with Scott Parker rather than Steve Clark. Our players like him and keeping a happy squad is most important, ask Utd about that one. I hope that fans like 'KUNYE' can get on board with Parker. MST' go get that season ticket mate' Fulham are playing football again!!!

We played well but you have to ask yourself why has it all changed after a shocking season which has ended up with us relegated. Seri has made it clear he doesn’t want to stay at Fulham and I’m pretty sure Anguissa, Mensah and Marchand feel the same They have no loyalty towards the club and the only reason they pulled out all the stops today was to attract interest from other clubs which would be a good thing for us as we don’t want to be saddled with players who cost a lot and want to leave. West Ham and Crystal Palace are interested in Mitro and I wouldn’t blame him for leaving. Who wants to play under Tony Kahn and the way he runs the club. Cairney has been played out of position for the majority of the season so he’ll be off along with Sess. Sorry for the cynical take on this but it’s all too late. I’ll still be at the last games cheering our team on but I’m looking forward to the Championship and just hope Tony Kahn sticks to wrestling.

Agreed, Tom. Seri showed no desire and no heart, but Slav and CR kept trotting him out there. Le Marchand and Fosu Mensah outclassed bybthis level. Anguissa is a keeper, just needs to learn the game more. If he does, he’ll be a good buy.

Or would you prefer one of Clarke - a number 2 Pardew - local bloke but past it Pearson - nut job Coleman - on the piss n not good enough Wagner - bottle job who will dismantle the squad for unknown German b league players. Parker sees that getting the team galvanised is paramount - look at what it meant to the squad yesterday, look at what it meant to SP and Stuart Gray (should never have been sacked that's when the defence went AWOL). Some people should be careful what they wish for.

If only faithful, if only, time to move on is it, you have soon forgotten the football we used to play. I feel sure that Jokanovic without the repeated mistakes afforded to him by management would have kept us in the top division. Only twice in all the years I have been watching FFC did we achieve these football playing levels, Tigana and Jokanovic. As a small club it has to be the way forward to enjoy and admire the game as it should be played. I hope and pray for a third such time.

Faithful' i too think we should welcome Slavisa back if he is truly holding out. Just as Denny points out that only Tigana and Slav we have seen some great football. Slavisa has a proven track record for getting 2 clubs promoted now, Watford and Fulham. We can debate and argue that Slavisa is unproven and a failure in the prem. We all know that his hands were tied when it came to recruitment and putting his own stamp on Fulham. Our owners have made mistakes galore and i feel that they want to learn and rectify their mistakes. Well, i hope so! Lets face facts here, we are not going to get Laudrup or a Bielsa, or a Nuno at Wolves. I personally don't want the likes of big Sam or Clarke down at Fulham. If they announced that Jokanovic was appointed for a 2nd stint for next season, i would be estatic, and excited again. Slavisa would need more control on players, and a plan 'B' AND 'c', to take us to the next level. Why not give him that chance if he is interested? Gamble on buying a 'Bit Coin' or having Slavisa back for a 2nd spell? Slavisa Jokanovic can give Fulham what we crave, Decent football again, and we owe this guy his chance to put right what he failed to do at the first time of asking. Get Fulham back into the prem, and 'keeping Fulham in the prem. Let's not deny him that if he wants another crack at the job. Come on guy's, Kunye' Slavisa has got to be better than Colonel Parker!!! Everton today? More misery probably, i can't even get excited anymore. Bring back Slavisa, or Keegan, or Tigana!!!!! Give us some football we can enjoy again!!! And a win!!!!

I tried to post this last week but maybe there were too many big words or maybe I was too disrespectful to the club but for whatever reason my post could not be submitted so I'll reword it and see what happens.

Posts crying out for this manager and that player are just moot and in my opinion it matters not what you change downstairs at the club nothing will make a difference until the owner reaises where the real issues in our club lie - upstairs.

If you really think about it, most of the players at our club performed well for their previous clubs before they came to FFC and three managers this season have all come up short in trying to bind them together as a team (each using different tactics). Most of us will remember pundits, who were aware of the players we brought in, saying how well we had done in the transfer market and it was a real statement of intent to stay in the Premier League.

Eight months later we are where we are because we gathered together an eclectic mix of people with an eclectic mix of experience, from an eclectic mix of cultures, speaking an eclectic mix of languages and with very few being able to understand English. Couple this togther with a coach that won us promotion trying to replicate the team spirit we had last season and the knowledge that each player knew their job and everyone elses job and where each would be in each passage of play and what you have is a recipe for disaster.

You then bring in a second coach who has a squad who don't know each other and bought for the purpose of their passing game and positional excellence trying to play the long ball game. Then thirdly we promote a man who has been a professional coach for weeks and ask him to galvanise the dirty dozen into a well oiled machine in pretty much a matter of hours.

This is what happens when you allow people like Tony Khan to play FIFA with real people and I am afraid that our club is rotten to the core with back handers to agents, young talent ingnored, poor negotiations in contracts, no empathy or understanding of how the infrastructure of football in England works and a pocket full of cash!

All of us, no doubt, would like to give our children the chances in life that Tony Khan has had but I am pretty sure that most of us would step in when our kids start to lose embarassing amounts of money and witness the demise of a business for which we once had ambition. Until there is a complete clear out upstairs it is pointless trying to muster a group of players on big wages and egos to come together in unison to have what will be required to go straight back up.

Once the top brass have fallen on their swords we need to bring in a young British manager (in my opinion) and then let HIM bring in the players that fit into the tactics that he wants to play. This, I am afraid, is a back to the drawing room project which requires a new CEO and DoF who knows the culture and undewrstands the workings of football in this country.

Foriegn owners come into our clubs and change the values and culture that have built up over many years through history or they have some crazy idea that they will make a lot of money and when they don't they lose interest and stop investing. We all know that teams from around 12th in the PL down (Newcastle excepted if Ashley ever sells them perhaps)will continually fight for survival so in my opinion the sooner the European Super League is reality the better. That way these clubs who can spend crazy money on the egos of their owners can join their compatriots in Europe and leave the rest of the clubs to actually compete for something that matters rather than survival.

Until there is a complete change at the wheel at Fulham, and that doesn't necessarily mean Shahid Khan because I think he might actually get it, I will not renew my season tickets and I will not throw money away to watch his Son play with a live current.

Rant over!!

Good post MST, we’ll thought through. Could add or takeaway very little, I think you sum the situation up very well. Hopefully, now the true situation at the club has been laid out, in easy to follow and a succinct manner, there will be fewer idiotic and irrelevant posts. Here’s hoping we get back to sensible discussions:))

Agree with lots of the post but as much as l loved Jokanovic if your not one of the Top six you can not play his style of football in Premiership some times you must clear your lines or your get caught out like we did and we’re not able to recover . Hodgson defends well first plays his football in final third The mistakes were top to bottom. Still thing the Khans hearts are in the right place and hope they learn. As for Parker he’s brought a bit of harmony and spirt back to the club like Kit did who does not get credit he deserves for that, like Kit not sure Parker the right Manager full time

MST - I concur with the spirit of the posts but not all points are valid. As much as I strongly thinkTony Khan should leave leave his position, we are too easily to blame the foreign owners when things go bad or our case pear shaped! No one complain about the Blackpool owners when they were going up (all the way to the premier league) but on the way down they are the worse people in the land. I don’t know them but Blackpool probably found themselves in a position better than they were. Yes, all the players were great players for the club they played for. Isn’t that itself an endorsement for the job Tony has done - as he did when he hired Cairney, Ream, Mac and Stef - all were players of the seasons for their club before coming to Fulham. But what you are missing and the difference is 3 of these 4 players have championship experience, and I’d argue Scottish premier is about the same. Where’s the players we bought are all from a foreign league! That’s where Tony Khan got it wrong this time! Frankly, other than holding the ultimate owner accountable, I still have no issue with Shahid Khan. I believe once he resolves the governance structure in Fulham, we will be a stronger and better club with new stadium, added to the upgraded training facility! I will be renewing my season tickets!

Thank you, MST, for a generally well thought out post. I agree with almost everything, except where you refer to particular nationalities, which, I’m sad to say, borders on racism. Idiots abound in all nationalities and British owners and managers are no exception.I will only categorise Khan as one of those idiots, if he falls to see the incompetence of his son, and refuses to remove him from his role. The nationality of owners, managers and players is of total irrelevance

This is my final salvo. Thank you & goodnight all! chemist, a biologist and an electrical engineer had all been sentenced to death and were on death row waiting to go to the electric chair. Finally, the day had arrived. The chemist was due to go first. As he strapped him in, the executioner asked him, "Do you have anything you want to say?" The chemist replied, "No," so the executioner flicked the switch but nothing happened. According to this State's law, if an execution attempt fails, the prisoner has to be released. So the chemist was unstrapped and allowed to walk free. It was the biologist's turn next. As he was being strapped in, the executioner asked him, "Do you have anything you want to say?" The biologist replied, "No, just get on with it" so the executioner flicked the switch, but once again nothing happened. So, just like the chemist, the biologist was released. Then the electrical engineer was brought forward. The executioner asked him, "Do you have anything you want to say?" The engineer replied, "Yes. If you swap the red and the blue wires over, you might just make this thing work."

Fulham will ship out a few and will certainly need to build again back in the Championships. I really think that Drinkwater will be a good base start in our midfield along with a few strong influential on the ballplayers. If we are able to keep Cairney? and maybe Anguissa if we are able to keep him and he improves? If we can forget his bad-boy acquired image for a moment and reflect back to a title-winning Leicester. Cast your minds back and remember N'Golo Kante. Drinkwater was very instrumental and a key part of their midfield that helped to win that title. I really think that ex manager Conte, drafted Drinkwater into Chelsea to combine with Kante. With the change in personnel things just didn't work out for Drinkwater. At the age of 27- 28 now and with a reputation to build up, why not try to accommodate him back at the Cottage? I keep saying that we need to recruit some players with proven ability and sometimes we really need to overlook past discretions and misdemeanours in good players. Along with some of our youngsters and our more experienced players who we can hold on to, there is still a need to bag 1 or 2 proven players for the Championships. If interested, Drinkwater can rebuild his career with Fulham and get back to his best playing in our passing football midfield. We just need someone on the ball in the middle. My idea for Drinkwater might be a bad one, but we really need to make some smart decisions again for Fulham whoever we recruit. A good start is maybe we recruit injury free players. We are nursing a sick-list of players who don't play regularly. We need to address that problem...

I think that we went for him in the January transfer window, and he turned us down saying that he was not ;prepared to play in the Championship. How the mighty fallen, and I am sure that he is not the right type of player for our club. No thanks.

He was told he was not wanted start of season and to find a club he had not played a game still did not want to go in January . He’s happy to pick up he’s good wage packet not play football and get drunk that’s fine he’s got good contract lots would not blame him Owen. But how fit is he ,what he did at L C is well gone, what should we pay him how much would he cost has his desire gone. Free transfer would take a bunt on same money as our middle earners and hope we can get him fit not gonna happen

Maybe Drinkwater will grow up? There is not a lot of options left on the table for him now and that drink-drive charge will hang heavily on him. If Drinkwater can see past a pint of beer? Fulham is a good fit for him now. If he really wants to play football again, we are a good set-up to get him going. We shouldn't keep asking if this and that player is the right fit for Fulham. Remember George Best and Rodney Marsh? There has been a few so called bad boys down at Fulham. We do well with a lot of these guys. Fulham do not attract the top or nearly the top players, and i think that we will do well in recruiting good players with something to prove. Fulham have a few complacent players around the club and they are too comfortable in my opinion. The whole club and system needs a shake-up from top to bottom. If not Drinkwater, Benteke if mitrovic goes. There will be more players out there that we can get on board. We just need to select the right players for Fulham...

No O'Reilly yet Steven Sessegnon and Elliot included. Spoke with someone at MP who confirmed O'Reilly is being frozen out intentionally. Most believe he should be the first of the youth to play as he'sbeen best overall this season. Sess is considered very much out of sorts but playing him because contractually they pushed him into first team. Elliot isnt signing so want to promote him in case tribunal is needed. Says O'Reilly is extremely well thought of by first team squad and noone believes that he isnt there..PArker is given players and isnt going to upset higher people as he's trying to get a job... a disgrace if true..and I guess we'll see if Sess and or Elliot play Saturday..

I would not be surprised at all..Dont know what the bo has to do..maybe change his name to Sessegnon! Ive seen him loads this season and he has overall (its very difficult n our U23's to shine)been superb..Not every game but in at least 60% he's been the standout player..Ive heard players and coaches talk about him and why he isnt playing..But its nothing to do with his attitude or preformance. If Steven plays on Saturday then I agree this is something very grubby..He should be the first on the list and Opuko second. I wouldnt blame him if he walked as he's been treated very poorly and all because of politics..I just read his post match after Reading and he is a class boy..we should be proud of him yet our club treat him like dirt!!!

No, I am not talking about what you are thinking! I this forum we often compare the size of our club with others and some believe we are bigger than palace, Brighton and even wolves! Etc! Firstly is it relevant - as they say, it’s what you do with it that count! But if we really want to compare - how do we compare? Some think because Fulham are posh therefore must be better than south London like palace! Some think Fulham are the oldest therefore probably as big as Chelsea! But how do we measure size? getting the ruler out will not help in this case! How about stadium capacity (Is bounemouth one of the smallest clubs in the league?)? number of season ticket holder? Owners bank balance? Age? Number of trophies?? So on! What is it! No one would disagree Man U are bigger than Fulham! No one would disagree Fulham are bigger than Brentford! yes Brentford! But what is it? My opinion is simple - if your club were in bottom of league 2 - how many supporters will stay loyal! That’s how you determine the size! Thoughts?
Replies
I agree ,problem is we’ve been spoilt for the last 20 years when qpr we’re London’s top club in the table, Brentford league 1 it changes every year. Personally I see us a a championship team/club felt we were punching above our weight. Bournemouth if they loose Eddie Howe sure they’ll nosedive. I have noticed the gap increases every season between Orem and championship
posted by Mike (Guest) - Thursday 11th April 2019, 1:27 PM

Size, if it must be measured, is about "heart", an all encompassing passion and devotion to the club on the pitch, off the pitch and in the stands. Bournemouth for instance have it; we used to have it, but we don't now and it will take effort from the entire FFC family to get the heart back in the club. Following this logic, we are indeed a "smaller" club than Bournemouth sad to say.
posted by The Arizonan - Thursday 11th April 2019, 3:50 PM

It used to be on Fans and Ground size but as Mike pointed out the gap between Premiership and Championship has got Bigger we came down at the wrong time first time after 13 years the big bucks started to be paid now if you stay up longer nough a small club like Bounmouth can punch above there wait . But yes we are a championship club with rich owners
posted by Badger (Guest) - Thursday 11th April 2019, 3:52 PM

Well I was in the stands at Watford Ari, and there was an enormous amount of heart from everyone as there has been most of the season from the fans. So on that basis and that basis alone, we are much bigger than Bournemouth!
posted by Chris of Jokes - Thursday 11th April 2019, 4:35 PM

It's the whole thing Chris, the ethos of the club, not just the hardcore supporters who I agree have been magnificent. Most other clubs would nave been booing and throwing things long before now. But that's just a part of a much bigger picture. The club is in turmoil from top to bottom, which as far as I know Bournemouth isn't hence the comparison. It's a nebulous topic on which all opinions are valid. We have a disinterested and dysfunctional team, a caretaker manager with no clout, a director of football who's an arrogant know-nothing idiot, a sham Board of Directors, a squad overloaded with loanees and those who won't play Championship football and a staff infused with a "can't do" attitude. Having a great band of supporters is possibly one of the only things "Fulham" we can cling on to.
posted by The Arizonan - Thursday 11th April 2019, 5:59 PM

I think we will agree to disagree on this one Ari. Just because we have had a bad season does not mean that the club is in turmoil. It's not great admittedly, but unless you are in there behind the scenes, who really knows? Also, is the state of where a club is in terms of league position and perceived back room turmoil or state of affairs really a factor when judging the size of a club? On that basis, Bournemouth are bigger than Leeds and Sunderland to name a couple. In my opinion, the size of a club is about the history and tradition of that club as well as ground size and average support over a period of time. We were in the prem for 13 years and had a good few years of European football. Not many clubs our size (average to small) have a better record. Let's just say that supporting Fulham is never boring!
posted by Chris of Jokes - Friday 12th April 2019, 9:32 AM

As far as I am aware the size of a club is and always has been measured on it's fan base, it's history and it's geographical reach. Leeds, Nottingham Forest, Aston Villa, etc. are all big clubs in the Championship and would also be big clubs in the Premier League. Did Newcastle become a small club when they were relegated to the Championship or Man Utd, Chelsea, etc. when they were relegated to the old Div. 2 - no of course not. By comparison Fulham are a small club - always have been and always will be thank goodness.

Exactly a year ago I think most Championship teams would have considered Fulham were the better team than Wolves, and we proved it by beating them. How our worlds changed in a space of 9 months. They also spent a lot but not quite as much as us. They have a solid defence we have a very very leaky one. They bought Neves for £15m and we bought Seri for almost twice as much. Neves is now worth £100m, we’d lucky to get £10m for seri! They are fighting for the seventh spot, we are fighting to avoid finishing bottom. They have almost 3 times as many points as Fulham and infact achieves as many points as we have today back in September! They reached FA semi and we lost at home to Oldham. They are feared by the top six clubs, we are the favourite oppositions for the bottom six teams who need to improve their scoring records! How far have we grown apart! Shocking and embarrassing! Beyond laughable! I hope our board can learn from them on how to manage a club!

Can’t compare us to Wolves, they’d won the league at a canter, took there foot of the gas and started planning for transfer targets/premier league football 2-3 months ahead of us,don’t blame the chairman admittedly made some bad late panic buys but like most fulham fans I was looking forward to this season and gutted the way it’s turned out. Finally losses of £42 million plus wonder who’s picking up the tab for that one? Get behind the club and stop complaining/comparing If you do look at QPR,BOLTON think we’re not doing that bad!

Agree with John think Wolves is a good comparison don’t think for 1 minute they took foot off the gas as suggested by Mike who seems content with mediocrity comparing us to the plight of Bolton. Wil he be happy if we sit just outside the relegation zone next year

When I see how well Wolves have done this season compared to us, it genuinely brings a tear to my eye, as I feel so upset with the way our season has panned out compared to Wolves. I watched Bristol City against WBA tonight on Sky, and although I am hopeful that we might be involved in another promotion push next season, I am beginning to believe that it is not going to be the formality that many of our supporters are expecting, and I am more than a little worried about it. There needs to be a real upheaval in both our Management and Board, to make sure that we gather the right squad together well before the season begins, so please no last minute panic signings like this season.

Re Mike:If you compare us to Brighton,Bournemouth,Crystal Palace,Burnley or Watford we're not doing so good !!! None of the above clubs can be described as being bigger than Fulham. They are just lucky enough to have owners who know what they are doing. The Khans have totally mismanaged this club.

Wolves were a long way ahead of us did a gamble by signing players for Premiership while still in Championship so played longer together did not have to change to much well ready for prem if they did not go up could of been in trouble. But they ran away with it. Always likely to stay up and will be a top ten club

It is not a fair comparison in my opinion. I would say look at past Playoff winners or even runner's up in the Championship and the record is terrible, But the team that wins the Championship is almost certain to stay up in its first year.

I agree with Badger. Wolves gambled last year on recruiting quality players too good for the Championship and good enough for the Premier League. The gamble paid off, otherwise they would have been in trouble with FFP.

I understand that there is a chance Shaun Dyche may leave Burnley next season if funds are not available for him to strengthen the team. He has experience of bouncing back into the Premiership and NOT a man that this board could say no to when it comes to players and they would have to keep out of team selection if they know what is best for them. He's a winner and could work wonders for Fulham. For some to say he is a modern day BIG SAM is a slander, he is far better than that and my pick for Manager next season if available.

He possibly could consider, with the proviso of no interference from the board on acquisitions, team selection and primarily funds available to enter the market. And a possible,? that he may be able to persuade Tarkowski to join us (some one who the management thought was to expensive when Brentford asked 3m+ for him)

If we are to change our Manager yet again, it should be a no brainer and it has to be, providing that Bristol City are not promoted, Lee Johnson. He knows the Championship inside out, and he has done well on a limited budget. With our owners saying that they will put more money into getting top class players, then he would be like a child in a sweet shop, and providing there would be no interference from Tony he would get us promoted in his first season. The rumour has it that he is a Fulham fan anyway. Come on home then Lee

I would be happy enough if Steve Clark got the job I would just say get on with it and get the manager sorted early rather than waiting for the musical chairs to start in the close season , after one or 2 managers leave or are sacked then the talk starts and Fulham then hire some one who is now out of a job or isn't being chased by anyone else.We need our manager early because we need to do do a lot of trading as early as posible.

I am wondering what side Scott Parker will put out on Saturday against Everton. Personally I would only put out, not only this weekend, but for all of the following matches, only players that will be committed to Fulham next season, and if that includes Mitro, then so be it. We are down now, so whatever score will we lose by is completely irrelevant, but we should not play any loan players at all. If needs be play the youngsters, and give them some first team experience. We have to sort the wheat from the chaff and soon. COYW

Totally agree we only want players who have FFC at heart and it is now useless to play players who have already made plans to play elsewhere next season.

Agree in principle but putting a bunch of kids on and lose 10-0 will not be great for their confidence! So need to find a balance and all managers will put out the best team possible to win! Parker is judged by the results not how many kids he plays! Saying that maybe kids are the only thing could keep Parker in the job - if we can win a couple of games with them!

in many ways i would like to see several of the younger players involved , and maybe keep those who will leave at the end on the bench . But we have to wary of the FA fining us for fielding a " weakened team " , partic against clubs with something fight for . I think young players will have a desire not seen in those who have mentally already left , but not sure FA will see it same way . Maybe start with the established players and then introduce the kids later in the game .

To say that I am P'd off is and understatement. Yesterday I sat and watched the BBC's choice of the Semi-Final matches at Wembley, and I watched a really poor games of football, which was all over bar the shouting in 3 minutes. Today, apparently a great game of Semi-Final football was played, with twist and turns and a 5 goal relish, however, due to being shown on BT, 90% of us couldn't watch it. Oh yes, the highlights are on BBC TV, but we now know the score, so the excitement is not there. I curse when I see any games covered by BT. Am I the only one that thinks that all FA Cup Semi-Final should be available to everyone to watch on the BBC. This in my opinion, also applies to all European matches as well. BT is far too expensive for me and many of my friends, and we are missing out on a lot of big games. So frustrating.
Replies
I agree that BT Sport is expensive if you are not already a BT customer however, they now have a one month rolling contract for £27.99 which I have taken up which means you can dip in and out to watch the games of interest to you. In terms of availability of games on BBC, football is a commercial business now sold to the highest bidder and without that competition we would have no live football on TV so we take the good with the bad I guess.

Rumour is Dortmund are prepared to offer him a mega contract in January if he can hold out until then! Sess would be looking at doubling or even tripling any salary he would otherwise get at Fulham or Spurs! Fulham would be entitled to £500k - the same amount they received diff Dembele, who later sold by Celtic for £20m!!

My gut would say Ryan will join a prem club for a decent fee (10m plus addons as his stock is low) O'Riley will go unless they play him imo..And I think they have to play him this season..I wouldnt sign a contract unless I was in squad and for whatever reasons apart from football he doesn't seem to figure..O'Riley is half Danish (and bit Norwegian) and his style would be ideal in Europe. Personally I think that will be the bigger loss going forward.Steven Sess has signed and Im sure he will play Saturday..which is crazy as he's been woefully out of form and is now playing left back but I think we have strange decision making at this club and very little to do with performance etc..Just left a post on Voy that Stef Johansen is trying to get him to play for Norway (first team ) for Euro qualifications..so obviously he thinks hes good enough! Enough rubbish spouted by the owners management 3 managers in 1 season first one best of the lot. Listened to Tony Khan on talk sport months ago, blimey has he gone quiet recently. Took me back to al fayed ( and I loved him) when he came and said he was going to make us the Man Utd of the south lol. Mackintosh, why is he still ALLOWED to hang around. we were not great last year, remember we finished behind Cardiff and they were probably the worst team ever promoted. this year has been a disaster on the pitch starting with team morale hence the arguments with the players etc etc. the owners and senior management need to take a huge look at themselves. they let us down as fans, they let some of the players down who worked hard to get us promoted. they need to change and adapt and learn from their mistakes. no great shakes going into championship as its our level and each week we may win lose or draw. only shame is we worked hard to get there and we simply did not compete on or off the pitch and the owners are to blame, they spent the money on has beens and bin men. Enough said , love Fulham always will but please Owners if you read these go get a coffee find a quiet place and look at what you did wrong. COYW

Dear Big gazza, I agree with you, but I think that some of the players should also look at themselves as part of the problem. However bad management are, players should give their all on the pitch including doing the "dirty" work of tracking back. Personal differences between players should never spill onto the pitch.
