A promising striker, Michael Uwezu signed his first professional contract with Fulham at the end of the 2008/09 season - topping off a fine campaign.

Uwezu broke into Billy McKinlay's Development Squad and comfortably made the step up from Academy football. Uwezu notched 11 goals in 18 games for the Academy Under-18s in the 08/09 season.
