Damien Duff became Fulham's third signing during the summer of 2009 when he switched from Newcastle United to SW6.

Earlier in his career Duff made more than 180 appearances for Blackburn Rovers before becoming Chelsea's then record signing when he joined for £17million at the start of the 2003-04 campaign.

Injury affected his initial impact at Stamford Bridge, but he went on to become a key player for Fulham's SW6 rivals, helping them to their highest league finish in 49 years. He also became part of the Blues team that swept up the Premier League title and Carling Cup in 2005.

Duff made more than 80 appearances for Chelsea, scoring 14 goals, before joining Newcastle in July 2006.

The winger made some key contributions in his three years at St James' Park, although the Magpies' fortunes took a turn for the worse when they were relegated at the end of the 2008/09 season.

With the 75-cap Republic of Ireland international available, Fulham made their move to secure Duff, who went on to enjoy a superb first season at the Cottage.

Duff was a consistently outstanding member of Fulham's Team on the right flank. The winger has also scored his fair share of goals, none better than a blistering left-footed strike against Birmingham City in February.

In and out of the starting XI in the first part of last season, the Republic of Ireland international enjoyed a very productive second half, and as a result, finished the 2011/12 campaign in positive fashion. Duff won his 100th cap for his country when he captained Ireland in the 2-0 loss to Italy at the 2012 European Championship.
