Roy Hodgson reinforced his attacking options during the January 2008 transfer window with the acquisition of Erik Nevland. The striker signed for the Whites on a two-and-a-half year deal from Norwegian side Viking FK.

Nevland has an impressive career goals tally and his striking pedigree was evident during the tail end of last season when his two strikes against Reading and Birmingham fired Fulham towards the safety zone.

The striker’s commitment to the cause last term was admirable. His impressive energy levels, sharp turn of pace and instinctive finishing will see him pushing hard for a First Team berth during the 2008/09 campaign.

Erik went on to start some 21 games for Fulham and 41 sub appearances, which included a sub appearance in Fulhams Europa League Final game, and scored 10 goals including goals against Chelsea, Liverpool and Everton.

In June 2010 he returned to Viking FC as team captain and in the following two seasons he played 54 times scoring 16 goals.

In August 2021 he was appointed sporting director of Viking FK.
