Danny Murphy, a brilliant reader of the game, is a player that is seemingly always one step ahead.

Having left Liverpool in search of first team football in 2004, the former England international moved south and spent time at both Charlton Athletic and Tottenham Hotspur.

However, after an indifferent year-and-a-half at White Hart Lane, he moved across the capital again in the summer of 2007 with a move to Fulham. Murphy's subsequent time at Craven Cottage has been eventful to say the least.

Having already cemented his name in the Club's history books with that headed goal at Fratton Park on the last day of the 2007-08 season he took his own and Fulham's game further the following season (08/09), steering the Whites to seventh in the league table and securing European football for only the second time in the Club's 130-year history.

In 2009/2010 season Murphy was once again at the heart of Fulham's impressive form in the Barclays Premier League and played a true Captain's role in the Club's remarkable European adventure to the Final in Hamburg.

In 2010/2011 season Murphy has been an ever present member of Mark Hughes' starting eleven and led the Team admirably. He was released by Fulham at the end of the 2011-12 season as he could not agree on a contract extension. In his last season at Craven Cottage, Murphy created more goalscoring chances than any other player in the top-flight. On 25 June 2012, Blackburn Rovers confirmed the signing of Murphy on a two-year contract.
