Player description
Ouaddou was snapped up by Fulham at the beginning of August 2001 as they began to strengthen their squad for their debut Premiership campaign.

The Moroccan international cost the Cottagers £2million from Nancy and has been described as his country's Rio Ferdinand. High praise indeed.

However, Abby, as he is known, suffered an injury on his debut for Fulham, hobbling off after 70 minutes of the pre-season friendly against Crystal Palace the day after his completed his moved to the west London club.

Still managed to return to fitness to make his debut in the club's curtain-raiser against Manchester United.

Very much described as one for the future, Ouaddou played just the 12 games in his debut season.

Earned the chant 'Ouaddou like to be beside the seaside' due to his love of the town of Blackpool!

The player's preferred position is as a centre-back, and Fulham's desire to play him has a right-back left him unsettled and in July 2003 he was loaned out to French side Rennes for the new season.

French outfit Rennes completed a move for Abdeslam Ouaddou in June 2004.
