Free headers cost Fulham a share of the points at least.

It would have been painful for any losing manager after scoring twice away.

But for Kit Symons, a dyed in the wool former centre back, to watch Fulham gift three goals as they did was sheer torture.

Sheffield Wednesday scored all three goals from headers following set-pieces and any White thinking they'll be going home early in training next week is in for a rude awakening.

"Three goals from three set pieces and headers and you don't deserve to get anything out of the game," the gaffer offered. "Maybe on reflection, because we took the game to them in the second half, we did deserve to get something.

"I'm proud of that second-half performance, but defending should be easier than that.

"People mark the man they're meant to be marking and get their head to the ball first. It's not a difficult art. It's about desire and doing your job.

"You can do hours and hours on a training field, and maybe we need to do more. It's boring for the players, and they don't enjoy it, but listen, that's maybe what we need to do.

"Andy Lonergan had to make three good saves from those situations. In open play, we were the better team by a country mile, but it's not just about that.

"If you score twice away, you expect to get something but we were masters of our own downfall. I'm not very happy at the moment, as you can tell."
