Roma defender Juan could face another spell on the sidelines after suffering a calf injury during yesterday's 2-1 win over Bologna at the Olimpico, according to Il Tempo newspaper.

The 30-year-old came off at half-time and his condition will be evaluated tomorrow when the Lupi resume training at the Trigoria complex.

It is suggested that the setback has no connection to any of the previous muscle problems that have plagued him in recent seasons, but the ex-Bayer Leverkusen man is a major doubt for Thursday's crunch Europa League home tie with English side Fulham.

Claudio Ranieri is already without captain Francesco Totti, who is expected to return to action after the upcoming international break.

Defender Nicolas Burdisso and midfielder David Pizarro are predicted to recover from knocks in time to face the Londoners, but French striker Jeremy Menez could miss out after limping off with a groin injury yesterday.
