Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins is not giving up the chase for Fulham's Zesh Rehman. The Liberty Stadium side are looking to bring in the Birmingham-born midfielder and make him the third Craven Cottage player to head for Swansea this summer.

Over the weekend the Swans completed the record £375,000 transfer of central defender Dean Leacock on a three-year contract, and he follows Darren Pratley, who joined for £100,000 last month, from West London to South Wales.

And now Jenkins is hopeful that the club will be able to make a third swoop on Fulham.

Rehman, a Pakistan midfielder, started last season in Chris Coleman's squad and has spent loan spells at Brighton and Norwich City.

"We have enquired about midfielder Zesh Rehman," Jenkins confirmed.

"But at the moment we cannot agree on a fee for him."

Last week it looked like Swansea were about to complete a £450,000 double swoop for Rehman and Leacock, but so far only the £375,000 signing of Leacock has materialised and it looks like the Swans will have to make a six-figure bid to secure the 22-year-old's signature.

"He (Rehman) is under a two-year contract at Fulham, but this is something we may look at again in the future," added Jenkins.

If Rehman does complete the move to the Liberty Stadium, Swansea would take their summer spending spree close to £600,000.
