Premier weekend game details 08:10.11.2003

last updated Friday 07th November 2003, 3:52 PM
Fulham have to pick themselves up on Saturday for a testing game at Charlton. The Cottagers have a reasonable record at Charlton but The Addicks are doing better than expected at the moment. Hopefully Fulham have an advantage in that Charlton have been playing better away from home and are not as free scoring as Chris Coleman's squad.

Elsewhere ....
On Saturday Arsenal welcome Tottenham and are looking forward to making Tottenham's poor start to the season even worse, if that is possible. Spurs last won at Highbury in 1993. Bottom of the league Leeds travel south to Portsmouth who have won 3 of their 5 Premiership home games while Leeds have won just 1 away game so far. It looks like another afternoon of agony for Peter Reid.

Villa against Middlesbrough could win the boredraw of the weekend title as Boro have failed to score in 3 of their five away games and Villa have drawn 3 of their 5 home games Bolton at home to Southampton looks another tight game with goals being at a premium. The Midlands derby between Wolves and Birmingham kicks off at 12.30 on Saturday and Dave Jones, along with a few other people, will be hoping to make it 3 home wins in the trot.

Liverpool against Man Utd on Sunday could be an interesting clash but United should leave with all the points. Fulham Broadway receive Newcastle on Sunday and must win, regardless of their efforts during the week in Europe, to maintain a hope of being in the mix at the end of the season. Man City could not sort the Polish tiddlers during the week and a battling Leicester performance could see another helpful draw.

On Monday two of the nicest managers in the game clash when Everton travel to Blackburn. Last year both of these managers and their squads were media darlings but all that has changed with Everton still to register an away victory this season and Blackburn having lost their last 5 league games.

If all goes well Fulham could be in 4th place by Tuesday morning but if all goes badly we could slip to 10th spot.
