Marlet has no future at Fulham

last updated Sunday 17th July 2005, 1:17 PM
Steve Marlet has no future at Craven Cottage, according to Fulham manager Chris Coleman.

The France international had spent the past two seasons on loan at Marseille but failed to clinch a permanent deal at Stade Velodrome.

Marlet has already rejected a move to Le Mans, while reports claim he has also snubbed offers from Charlton, Newcastle, Lille, Auxerre and Qatar.

But though Marlet has shunned the chance to accept an escape route from Fulham, Coleman insists there is no way back for the club's record signing.

There were suggestions that the 31-year-old would be offered an olive branch to rekindle his career with the West London outfit.

Coleman, though, has confirmed that the striker is not wanted at Craven Cottage and is on the lookout for a new club.

"Obviously, Steve's loan at Marseille has finished," Coleman told Sky Sports News.

"He is not training with us and he is currently looking for another club.

"Steve wants to move on and I am not looking to bring him back. He is looking to play elsewhere and that's football."

Marlet has expressed a desire to join a club who can offer him European football this season but his plea has yet to be met with a positive response.
