Former Fulham captain Lee Clark today declared his interest in becoming the new Fulham manager.

Fulham are searching for their new boss and hope to appoint someone this week.

The Cottagers missed out on Paul Lambert after he joined Blackburn and Rangers manager Mark Warburton has ruled himself out of the running to replace Kit Symons.

Nigel Pearson remains the frontrunner with the bookmakers, while Uwe Rosler is another name being linked with the vacant position at Craven Cottage.

Clark, who has been out of work since leaving Blackpool in May, played more than 170 games for Fulham as a player and says he is interested in the job.

"Everyone knows what I think about that place," he said.

"If you are saying, 'Would I be interested in being manager of Fulham?' Of course I would throw my hat in the ring.

I would be absolutely delighted if that was the case.

It is a special club to play for with terrific people behind the scenes."

Mike Rigg, the club's chief football officer, is leading the search for the new manager and hopes to have someone in place for Saturday's game at MK Dons.
