Kit Symons has hailed the progress of winger George Williams - but warned the youngster he's not a guaranteed starter at Fulham.

The highly-rated 19-year-old made his full debut for Wales in this week's Euro 2016 qualifying win against Cyprus, despite making just a handful of senior appearances for the Cottagers.

Symons is juggling his job as Craven Cottage caretaker with his role as the Welsh No 2, and has seen first hand Williams's rapid rise.

However, the young gun has yet to start a game under Symons at Fulham and will be used when his manager sees fit.

"George has been excellent. He's a real breath of fresh air around the place," said Symons.

"Chris Coleman loves him with Wales. He got his debut out the blue against Holland before the World Cup, came on in that game and was excellent.

"He's featured a few times since and started against Cyprus for his full debut. It was a great achievement for him.

"But in certain situations I think a player might struggle I will put someone else in if they are better equipped to do the job.

"I know the young players better than anyone. I know their strengths and weaknesses. We've got some exceptional talent, but it's about the long term and establishing them at this football club."
