Fulham boss Kit Symons believes the next four matches could determine whether his side achieve mid-table security or be involved in a relegation scrap.

The Whites suffered their third defeat in four league games on Saturday when they were beaten by Ipswich, leaving them only five points clear of the drop zone.

They travel to fellow strugglers Millwall next Saturday before games against promotion-chasing Wolves, Derby and Watford.

And Symons believes the league table in a few weeks' time will give a clearer picture.

He said: "It's very tight, without a doubt. To stay away from it, it's all leading into the next three or four results really. Things could happen very quickly.

"If you get a few positive results, you're mid-table but a couple of poor results and you're right in it.

"Confidence is a massive thing in football. Sometimes all it can take is a scrappy goal off someone's backside to win a game and it's amazing how the belief can start to soar again then.

"I don't care how the next win comes but I want it sooner rather than later."
