Fulham could have Facundo Sava back in action for the Worthington Cup tie against Bury. The Argentinian striker has missed the last five games with a calf injury but is back in training.

His return to fitness will ease the burden for manager Jean Tigana who already has Steed Malbranque (foot), Louis Saha (hamstring) and Sean Davis (broken toe) are sidelined.

Tigana must decide how to balance his resources after 23 matches this season including campaigns in the Intertoto and Uefa Cup.

At the start of another cup adventure for Fulham, Tigana may be tempted to rest some of his stars and give rare outings to the likes of John Collins, Maik Taylor and Lee Clark.

Bury forward George Clegg will remain sidelined for their Worthington Cup third-round tie. Forward Clegg was one of the heroes when the Shakers stunned Bolton in the last round, but the 21-year-old has not played since damaging his knee at the Reebok Stadium.

Frontman Gareth Seddon will be back in the squad following a blood disorder, while midfielder Lenny Johnrose (hamstring) will have a late fitness test.

Matt Barrass took a knock on his foot in the weekend win at Leyton Orient but is expected to keep his place in defence.

Player-boss Andy Preece could once again start, having scored in each of the Shakers' last three matches.
