Lawrie Sanchez is hoping Fulham can get back to winning ways when they tackle Bolton in the Carling Cup on Wednesday night.

A run of five Premier League games without a victory has seen the Cottagers slip to 17th in the table ahead of Saturday's trip to Chelsea.

Fulham collected their only three-point haul of the campaign when they defeated Sammy Lee's strugglers 2-1 at Craven Cottage back on 15th August.

Sanchez said: "Of course we will field a strong side again - a very strong side.

"We have a strong squad now with quality players on the bench that can come on and improve our performance.

"We need to get through this tie because that will also give us a boost for going to Chelsea in the league next Saturday.

"We've signed a lot of new players and I know we have more quality now with this squad which will come through.

"I would like to get to a stage where results dictate I field the same team week in, week out and only make changes for injuries or an individual off form."

Sanchez has admitted his disappointment at Jose Mourinho's departure from the Stamford Bridge hot-seat and has tipped his side to spring a surprise.

He said: "I was looking forward to that and the chance to break Jose Mourinho's long unbeaten home record but, of course, that's gone out of the window now. Knowing our lot, though, we would have done it.

"Maybe it is a good time to be playing Chelsea, I don't know, but the way we are going anything can happen.

"It depends how you look at it. We are second top scorers in the Premier League but also the second-worst for conceding goals."
