Fulham striker angry being axe

CHRIS COLEMAN has been rocked by a dressing room rift with fed-up striker Collins John.

Collins JohnDutchman John is furious at being largely ignored for Fulham’s last four Premiership games.

He has not started a match since the 3-3 draw with Watford on October 2 and believes he is paying the price for a change in tactics by his boss.

Coleman has openly declared he is ready to sacrifice entertainment for hard-won points in an erratic season for Fulham.

Towering frontman John, 21, played in all but three of Fulham’s 38 Premiership games last season, scored 12 goals and was a key figure in the squad.

But the skilful star is still looking for his first goal of this season and believes he is being unfairly made the scapegoat for the change of heart by his manager.

He has been restricted to a substitute’s role in recent weeks but his patience snapped after being summoned from the bench in the 89th minute of Saturday’s 1-0 win over Everton.

John’s growing impatience will alert rival top-flight clubs ahead of the January transfer window.

He has been with Fulham for three years and has 18 months left on his £18,000-a-week deal.

Strugglers Newcastle and Watford will be among the leading contenders vying for the Holland Under-21 star, who is a highly-rated prospect back in his homeland.

Manchester City are also keen admirers as boss Stuart Pearce battles to inject consistency into their campaign.
