Fulham and Liverpool are said to be keen on acquiring Italian coach Fabio Capello.

The English Premiership duo's interest in the Roma boss was reported in Italian sports newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport on Tuesday.

Capello, who joined Roma in the 1999-2000 season from AC Milan, has a contract with the Giallorossi until June 30, 2005.

He has a wealth of top-level club experience, having also taken the reins at Real Madrid, but he could be looking for a way out after a difficult season with Roma.

The Roman giants are 10th in Serie A, 18 points behind current leaders Inter Milan after 20 matches, a disastrous performance for a team that won the Scudetto in the 2000-2001 season and were second in Serie A last season.

The 56-year-old coach, who reportedly earns 4 million euros (£2.65m) a season, has also been linked with Barcelona and Bayern Munich.
