Fulham draw Wycombe in FA Cup

last updated Monday 10th December 2001, 11:50 AM
Fulham drew last year's semi-finalists Wycombe at Adams Park in the 3rd round of the AXA sponsored FA Cup.

The two teams have met 7 times all between Aug 97 and Feb 99 with Fulham winning 3, drawing 3 and losing 1. Wycombe are 7th in the Second Division undefeated at home in 11 games so will not be a walk over.

The draw, made on Sunday, also includes Aston Villa at home to Man Utd while the other Birmingham side, City, go to Liverpool. Aston Villa manager said "We'd rather be playing Manchester United than go to Canvey Island," How times have changed.

Arsenal face Gianluca Vialli's Watford at Vicarage Road in another eye-catching game. Canvey Island's reward for their progress past Northampton Town is a trip to Turf Moor to face first division leaders Burnley.

Ties to be played on the weekend of January 5/6/7
