HULL have solved their striker crisis after signing Wigan’s Marlon King on a six-month loan deal.

The Jamaican international has agreed to join the Tigers until January with a view to making the move permanent.

Phil Brown’s initial £3m offer failed to secure the services of King, who has not been able to reach an agreement with the Latics over a severance package.

If he can settle with Steve Bruce’s men between now and January, King will become the Tigers’ record signing when the transfer window re-opens.

He will become the ninth summer signing at the KC Stadium and Brown is still hoping to secure a loan deal for Chelsea misfit Claudio Pizarro.

King, 28, is now expected to make his Hull debut against Fulham this weekend.

The Cottagers had chased King last season but the transfer collapsed due to a problem with his medical.

Steve Bruce then stepped in to take King to Wigan in Jan 2008 where he had 8 starts and 7 sub appearences in the Premiership during which he scored one goal, in a 3-1 defeat against Blackburn.
