Forest v Fulham Preview

last updated Friday 15th September 2000, 4:26 PM
Nottingham Forest player/manager David Platt has recovered from an ankle injury to give his City Ground side more options as they take on Division One leaders Fulham.

Platt is additionally aided by the return of Gary Jones after the striker's recovery from a head injury he suffered in training.

But, after the midweek win against Sheffield Wednesday when Jack Lester scored with a long range effort, Platt may stick with an unchanged side who he believes will lead the club up the table.

"I was pleased with the result but in a way I was disappointed," said Platt. "Playing like that we should be a lot higher up the league than we are.

"Saturday will be a tough game. Fulham have shown they are a good side but if we show the same kind of commitment we showed on Wednesday I think we have got a chance."

Fulham are aiming for a club record seventh consecutive win from the start of a season but manager Jean Tigana has concerns in midfield.

Sean Davis is out with a thigh problem while the influential John Collins is doubtful with a groin injury.
