Coleman praise for Sean Davis

Fulham boss Chris Coleman has lavished praise on his former midfielder Sean Davis as he prepares to be reunited with the player at the weekend.

Fulham boss Chris ColemanFollowing an ill-fated move to Tottenham - from Fulham - Davis has now recaptured some of his top form since swapping the capital for the South Coast in joining Portsmouth.

Davis moved to Portsmouth at the start of the year and after what was a slow start, he is now realising plenty of the potential he showed at Craven Cottage.

On Saturday Fulham travel to Portsmouth for a Premiership clash that Coleman predicts will bring out the best in a player he was eager to re-sign, prior to his switch to Portsmouth.

"He didn't do so well at Tottenham in terms of games and injury," said Coleman.

"But he's got back on track now, he's gone to Portsmouth and he's doing well and is that same infectious player that he was for us, getting around the park and having an effect on the game at both ends of the park.

"His ability has always been there, it's just that he had a sticky time at Tottenham and it was a case of whether he came to us or Portsmouth.

"Once he got games under his belt he was always going to be back to what he was, which is a good player.

"We were very serious about bringing him back but couldn't agree with Tottenham. Portsmouth were in for him too so we weren't the only show in town.

"It wasn't like we were going for Sean but got Michael instead, we wanted both and I've been delighted with Michael Brown this season."
