last updated Wednesday 18th February 2009, 2:31 PM
Referee Andre Marriner - Birmingham, West Midlands
Referee Andre MarrinerAndre Marriner, 36yrs, qualified as a referee in 1992 and was promoted to Football League assistant referee in 2000 after spending time in the Birmingham Amateur Football League and the Southern League. Three years later he was promoted to the Football League List of referees. Mr Marriner managed his first Premiership game, Charlton v Norwich, in Noviber 2004 and made the Select Group of referees in 2005.

Ref Marriner has reffed six Fulham games in his top flight career which include the embarrassing 5-1 stuffing at Man Utd in August 2006 and the 5-1 thrashing at Tottenhamon Boxing Day 2007.

In the six matches Marriner has issued 22 yellows (15 to Fulham players) and 3 reds (2 to a Fulham player. He is also an above average homer so all that should be a great help.

Referee Stats -2008/2009

Previous Fulham games what was refed by Andre Marriner
2008/2009
27-09-2008 Premier Fulham 1-2 West Ham 5y 1r
Bookings: Hangeland, Johnson, (Johnson sent off for 2nd yellow, 45), Konchesky, Murphy (Fulham) Parker (West Ham)
Disaster! Schwarzer gifts the opening goal, West Ham score a second and AJ gets sent off all in 3 minutes. Otherwise the lads played well, Schwarzer in great double save at 2-2. Ref Marriner also refused AJ a penalty claim.
28-12-2008 Premier Fulham 2-2 Chelsea 3y 0r
Bookings: Dempsey (Fulham) Bosingwa, Drogba (Chelsea)
Always a pleasure to take points off the Fulham Broadway mob. This was particularly enjoyable as the unmentionables came back to lead 2-1 going into the last minute when Clint Dempsey popped up to convert a corner. The place erupted. Joy, joy, unbounded joy. :-) Oh and Marriner seemed to behave himself.
2007/2008
26-12-2007 Premier Tottenham 5-1 Fulham 5y 1r
Bookings: Huddlestone (Tottenham) Baird, Davies, Smertin, Volz(sent off for 2nd yel) (Fulham)
Last game before Roy of the Fulham Hodgson took over.
27-10-2007 Premier Sunderland 1-1 Fulham 5y 1r
Bookings: Halford (Sunderland) Bocanegra, Davies, Dempsey, Stefanovic (Fulham)
Surprise, surprise the boys outplay the opposition for most of the game, failed to capitalise on their dominance and failed to keep out a late lob into the box. Half4ord for Sunderland got sent off on 67 mins but that did'nt help either. Mr Marriner could have been a little less harsh on us as well.
2006/2007
20-08-2006 Premier Man Utd 5-1 Fulham 2y 0r
Bookings: Giggs (Man Utd) Brown (49, f) (Fulham)
One of our more embarrassing away debacles.
2005/2006
29-10-2005 Premier Wigan 1-0 Fulham 2y 0r
Bookings: Kavanagh (Wigan) Volz (Fulham)
Fulham went home to London angry and confused after what appeared to be some very dodgy refereeing decisions. Wigan keeper John Filan could have been sent off and there might have been a penalty - or two. Handball appeals against Leighton Baines rang out and Moritz Volz could have had a spot-kick rather than a yellow card for 'simulation' when he had been tripped by Alan Mahon. Nothing went Fulham's way and Claus Jensen said: "It is a shame to be talking about the referee. "We were quite sure that it hit his (Filan's) arm. As for the dive, he has never dived in his life. We are disappointed with the way those decisions have gone."
