Sunderland striker Jon Stead is a major doubt after he damaged his back during the 3-0 home defeat by Arsenal on Monday.
Justin Hoyte is available again after being ineligible for Monday's game and Julio Arca could return to the squad after a hamstring problem, while Liam Lawrence may be fit after a groin injury.

Fulham midfielder Michael Brown returns for the Barclays Premiership clash with Sunderland on Thursday after completing a three-match suspension.
But defender Zat Knight could miss the trip north following a clash of heads with team-mate Heidar Helguson in Saturday's 2-1 victory over Manchester City.
Carlos Bocanegra could replace Knight with the USA international back in full training over the last couple of weeks following his recovery from a thigh injury.
Former France defender Philippe Christanval, who replaced Knight against City, is also a possible option while injury-prone Claus Jensen may figure in the squad for the first time since October.
