Riedle out for Birmingham trip

last updated Thursday 17th August 2000, 11:48 PM

Fulham are missing veteran German striker Karlheinz Riedle as they travel to Birmingham for their first away match of the season.

The former Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool hitman has been ruled out with a shoulder injury and could be out of action for a couple of weeks.

Manager Jean Tigana is also without the services of Californian Eddie Lewis and Simon Morgan.

Lewis is away on international duty with the USA and Morgan has suffered a knee injury.

The Cottagers began their Division One campaign with a 2-0 victory over Crewe last weekend. Barry Hayles and Louis Saha were the men on target as Tigana began his Craven Cottage reign in fine style.

But they will not be expecting an easy ride from their trip to St Andrews. Trevor Francis' side opened their season with a 0-0 draw with QPR and will be keen to get their first win under their belts in front of their home fans.
