Now verging on the relegation zone after just a single point from their first 3 games, City prepare to take on table-toppers Fulham, a team who are yet to drop a point. It wouldn't take a genius to guess who the bookies are making the favourites, but do we know otherwise?
Not yet, but if Norwich were to carry on from precisely where they left off on Saturday, surely there is some hope. With about five clear-cut chances in the last five minutes against Blackburn and a first City goal for Giallanza tomorrow's match may not be a foregone conclusion.
The Canaries met Fulham four times within a month last season, twice in the league and twice in the Worthington Cup (two-legged). City lost 3 and drew 1, with an overall 9-2 against aggregate - including a 4-0 at home in the Worthington Cup 2nd round (the worst result of the season). A record that doesn't make pretty reading.
What's different this time around? Well, with any luck in Giallanza and Roberts the team now have two players that can score regular goals - a point hopefully proved on Saturday. And after three close scoring games and just one point maybe, just maybe the luck might start to go the other way.
On the team front. It is probable that Matt Jackson will start on the bench, after being withdrawn on Saturday (having proven himself to be not entirely fit) - I would hope he'll be replaced by Brian McGovern is Hamilton sticks with a back five (I hope not). Malky Mackay and Steen Nedergaard are nearing full fitness, and could also find themselves on the bench.
After a good showing and a goal against Blackburn, Gaetano Giallanza is likely to find himself in the starting line-up, and hopefully part of a more attack-minded formation. Loan signing Jim Whitley is likely to make his first appearance for the Canaries, but it is likely to be from the bench.
Fulham are odds-on to be fielding a better line-up than City, with a larger, better squad available to manager Jean Tigana.
Verdict: We are Norwich, Super Norwich etc...
Prediction: 2-0 to City - improbable, not impossible...
