Match Stats - Blackburn v Fulham 07.05.05

last updated Friday 06th May 2005, 9:41 PM
Big match facts from BBCSport FULHAM go into their 75th Premiership match since Chris Coleman was appointed permanently on the back of an unimpressive display in the midweek 1-3 loss to Newcastle at Craven Cottage. That was their second 1-3 defeat in three games, and the third time in six outings they'd conceded three goals in a match. They've managed just one win in six games.
  • The Londoners have won exactly 100 Premiership points since Chris Coleman originally took over in a caretaker capacity, but have only banked one point from the last available 18 on the road. The next goal they concede will be their 200th in the Premier League.
  • This is the eighth Premiership meeting of these clubs, and there's yet been a draw. Fulham picked up their first win in three attempts at Ewood Park, in last season's corresponding match. They took the game to a Rovers side managed by Graeme Souness and thoroughly deserved the points. Luis Boa Morte and Louis Saha goals condemned Blackburn to defeat.
  • NRecorded one win in six - all Premiership.
  • Completed just two victories in 12 League outings.
  • Lost 18 top flight matches. Only Crystal Palace (19) have lost more.
  • Conceded the opening goal 23 times in top flight matches this term - only Norwich (24) have allowed the opposition to score first more often.
  • Lost the lead only five times in top flight games this term. No club has surrendered the advantage more often.
  • Conceded more penalties in Premiership matches this season than any other club (eight).
  • Winless in eight away from home in all competitions.
Picked up one point from the last available 18 on the road.
  • Drawn one and lost five on their Premiership travels since beating Birmingham 1-2 on 22 January.
    R
  • egistered one win in 13 League and Cup matches away from the Cottage.
  • Claimed one maximum in 10 top flight games away from home.
  • Managed only one clean sheet in Premiership matches away from Craven Cottage (at Norwich).
BLACKBURN ROVERS and Fulham have been hovering in or just above the relegation zone for most of the season. They are now both safe with two to play, but will want to start preparing for more successful campaigns next season.
  • Rovers have kept three clean sheets on the bounce at Ewood Park, but are still the lowest scorers in the top division. They need to net twice more to total 600 all-time Premier League goals and are seeking a 10th League win under Mark Hughes.
  • Rovers recorded their first away win of the season when beating Fulham 0-2 in the reverse fixture in November, courtesy of their two Scottish strikers Paul Gallagher and Paul Dickov. The three points took Blackburn off the foot of the table and gave the Ewood Park club the chance of a second Premiership 'double' over the Cottagers. Should they complete a third successive victory over the Thames-side club, it would be their sixth "home and away" maximum against them in League fixtures spanning seven decades. Not won in three.
  • Drawn two and lost one, all Premiership, since defeating Crystal Palace 1-0 at home on 20 April.
  • Lost one of the last six in all Premiership.
  • Lowest scorers in the Premiership with 31 goals - that's one every 105 minutes (one hour 45 minutes) on average.
  • Drawn 14 times in the Premiership. Only West Brom (15) have finished all square more often.
  • Failed to score in 16 top League games - more than any other club. Drawn five and lost 11 when the opponents' goal line has not been penetrated.
  • Not won any top tier engagement when the opposition has scored first. Drawn seven and lost 12 of the 19 in which the opening goal has been conceded.
  • Won nine, drawn 12 and lost 10 of the 31 Premiership matches under Mark Hughes.
  • Their 36 League games have yielded 71 goals (31 for, 40 against) - that's the lowest such tally in the Premiership.
  • Gone 26 highest League games since a loss by more than a single goal. That was 4-0, away to Chelsea on 23 October.
  • Still holding the worst disciplinary record in the highest League (five red cards, 69 yellow).
  • Need a brace to total 600 goals all time in the Premier League.
  • Not lost in three at home (seven points from a possible nine).
  • Won two and lost one at Ewood Park since losing 0-1 to Arsenal on 19 March.
  • Won eight of the last 12 home games in all competitions.
  • Lost only one of the last seven League and Cup games on home territory.
  • Won five home Premiership matches against Portsmouth, Charlton, Norwich, Southampton and Crystal Palace. Only West Brom have won fewer home top flight contests (four).
  • Kept three successive clean sheets at Ewood Park.
  • Played 317 minutes (five hours 17 minutes) of Premiership football on home turf without conceding a goal.
  • Drawn eight times at home in the top table. Only Southampton have recorded more stalemates in front of the home faithful (nine).
  • Failed to score in seven home top tier encounters. Only Crystal Palace have fired more blanks in home top division games (eight).
