Grimsby v Fulham - Match preview

last updated Saturday 05th May 2001, 12:20 PM
Grimsby are on the edge of the relegation zone needing at one point to ensure that they remain in Nationwide Division One next season.

The Mariners rest in 19th spot in the division having won just 13 games out of 45 games so far with 9 clean sheets all season underlining the fact that their defence is amongst the leakest in the division having shipped 62 goals. In terms of attack they have scored 42 goals, less than one a game.

Fulham are 1st in Division One having won 30 games out of 45 with 18 clean sheets so far. Their attack is the most prolific in European top flight soccer and the defence has only let in 31 goals just 6 more than Man Utd.

Grimsby's recent home form is rather mixed to say the least with their last home game ending in a 4-1 thrashing by Blackburn

Fulham Last 6 Away 6 5 1 0 13 4 16

The Mighty Whites have not done well at Grimsby in the past having won only 8 times in the last 24 games with the last win at Blundell Park being in April '88. Even in recent times the Mariners have been able to keep Fulham under controll.
