Fulham boss Jean Tigana must assess the effects of his side's energy-sapping Worthington Cup quarter-final at Liverpool before the visit of Tranmere.
The Cottagers produced a battling display before eventually being overhauled by the Anfield outfit 3-0 after extra-time.
The First Division leaders will now turn their attention back to league matters and Tigana has several options up front.
Latvia forward Andrejs Stolcers will be hoping for a chance after featuring as a substitute in the two games since his £2million move from Spartak Moscow.
Former Germany international and Fulham coach Karlheinz Riedle is also back in training and could get a surprise nod if Tigana is tempted to alter his Anfield line-up of Louis Saha and Barry Hayles.
Tigana's side are 10 points clear of Bolton at the top of the Division One table.
Tranmere face a mammoth task in trying to overhaul Fulham this weekend, but the club are confident of springing a surprise.
Rovers will be without suspended duo Clint Hill and Wayne Gill for the Craven Cottage clash. Alan Morgan (knee) and John Achterberg (ankle) are also out of action.
Rovers had the chance to check on their next opponents in the Worthington Cup.
Rovers assistant boss Kevin Sheedy said: "They were very unlucky over the 90 minutes. They probably shaded it and could have gone through.
"I thought as a team they passed it very well and at times outpassed Liverpool, which takes something."
