Sheffield United striker James Beattie has emerged as a transfer target for Premier League club Fulham, according to a report in the Daily Mail.
It is claimed that the former Southampton front-man, who scored 68 goals in 204 appearances for the Saints, is keen to return to England's top-flight.
The 30-year-old is currently experiencing his second successive season as a Championship player with the Blades and his 12 league goals this season have helped them climb to sixth in the table.
The former England international, who has won five full caps for his country, finished last season as joint second highest goal-scorer in the division with 22 goals and the Cottagers are apparently willing to part with £4 million to land their man.
If they succeed, they will reunite two former Everton strikers, as Andy Johnson is already at Craven Cottage.
