Mark Fish

Charlton defender Mark Fish has announced his retirement from the professional game.

The South African stopper, 31, has opted to call time on his career due to a persistent knee injury.

Fish has been troubled by the complaint for the past few seasons and has now decided it is preventing him from playing to a standard he deems acceptable.

"I can no longer play to the standards I have set myself and therefore I feel it is time to move on," Fish declared.
