It is being widely reported in the sports press that Fulham have offered over £10m for Everton's England striker Andy Johnson.

If the reports are accurate Everton have accepted the Cottagers offer and have given Johnson permission to discuss personal terms.

The 26-year-old striker had been pursued by Wigan and Sunderland but they are believed to have baulked at having to beat the Fulham offer.

AJ, as he is known, was seen at Preston last night but did not stay to see how his team mates beat the Deepdalers 1-0 in a friendly. His absence was not thought to be due to injury as he had played the full 90 mins against Cambridge on Saturday.

Although Moyes has stated that he wants to keep Johnson at Everton it has also been reported that AJ is unhappy with lack of first team football and would enjoy a return to London.

Selling Johnson would also enable Everton boss Moyes to make bids for targets Sporting Lisbon midfielder Joao Moutinho and Real Zaragoza striker Diego Milito.
