Fulham's managing director Michael Fiddy has written to 12,000
local residents after deciding to boycott a meeting organised by a
group opposed to their stadium redevelopment plans
.
Fiddy claimed some of the club's neighbours were circulating
inaccurate information about the proposals and felt he needed to explain
their non-appearance at today's gathering.
Fulham Alliance have been vocal in their opposition to the £70
million plans for a 30,000 all-seater stadium on the Craven Cottage
site, but the club denied claims about the height of the stands and
the inclusion of a conference centre.
Fiddy said: "The nature of the misinformation propagated has led
us to conclude it is inappropriate for the club to meet with the organisation."
