Fulham boss Roy Hodgson has been linked to another national team job.
Alan Rough, former Scottish international goalkeeper and current radio chat show host, has called on the SFA to consider only senior footballing figures as they hunt for Scotland's next manager.
He said: "I've always been of a mind that the Scotland job, or any international job should be for a manager who has lots of experience in the world, particularly not a club manager who's just starting off in his career and I'm sure would admit that they've still got a lot to learn."
"We looked at this last night. There's Roy Hodgson at Fulham and Gerard Houllier, who's out of a job just now. These two have been at the top in Europe and at international level."
Roy Hodgson is in contract talks at Fulham at the moment as his existing contract runs out at the end of the season. When previously linked to other national roles Hodgson has said that he is happy at Fulham.
