West Brom midfielder Junichi Inamoto has admitted that he will have to consider his future carefully if he is not guaranteed regular first-team football next season.

The Japan international is desperate for some assurances that he will not be sat on the bench next term, when The Baggies will be competing in The Championship.

He hinted recently that not playing every week would damage his international career, but he has remained on the sidelines with Bryan Robson favouring Nigel Quashie.

Inamoto is now eager to hold talks with Robson to clear up the situation.

"I haven't spoken yet to the manager or my agent but, whether I play in The Championship or at another level is something I need to consider," he admitted.

"If the manager is thinking of keeping all the midfield players and if the situation is that I can't get a regular starting place in The Championship then it may be a problem.

"There is a big difference between sitting on the bench in The Premiership to sitting on the bench in The Championship.

"That is something I need to discuss with the manager. I will be 27 this year and if my situation is that I cannot get a regular place then there will be a doubt over my future at this club.

"I want to play for a club where I'm needed and if Bryan Robson feels he needs me for West Bromwich Albion then I would be happy to play for the club in The Championship.

"But if that's not the case, and another team wants me, as a player then I am willing to listen to offers."
