Former Fulham midfielder Eddie Lewis is set to return to the United States to link up with David Beckham at LA Galaxy after a mutual agreement to end his Derby contract.
The 34-year-old hails from California and has a property in the Los Angeles area.
He has been capped 76 times by the U.S. but Rams boss Paul Jewell will let him go as he rebuilds his squad.
"Eddie is a fantastic professional and somebody the manager and I have a lot of repect for," said Pearson.
"We wish him well."
Lewis signed for Fulham in 2000 for a reported £1.3m from San Jose Earthquakes after having a successful career in the USA.
Unfortunately he was not able to make a success of his move to Craven Cottage and moved on to Preston, Leeds and Derby. He is still a current USA international.
