Portsmouth are 18th with 14 pointsand their highest achievable position after Match Day 20 is 17th while
the lowest could could be 19th
- Portsmouth against Fulham is an end-of-year six-pointer between two bottom six clubs. A second home victory in Harry Redknapp's second stint in charge could lift Pompey out of the relegation zone, if it's accompanied by victory for Sunderland over Everton at the Stadium of Light. But the south coast strugglers are coming off their heaviest defeat of the season, a four-goal first half capitulation to Arsenal at Highbury on Wednesday night, and have only recorded three League victories - one at home.
- Pompey and Fulham are the least resilient in the Premiership. Both have effectively dropped 15 points from matches in which they held the lead - losing three, and drawing three. Since the season's high point - a 4-1 victory at rock bottom Sunderland on 29 October - Portsmouth have lost six of eight, with the last three resulting in a win, a draw and a defeat in that order. They'll be keen to add to their single point from the holiday fixtures, with a trip to Blackburn to come after this.
- Pompey hold an unbeaten home Premiership record against Fulham of one win and one draw, which includes a seven goal epic on a Bank Holiday Monday in August last year. The home side held on for their first victory of the season, when a Yakubu hat-trick helped them outscore their London opponents.
- Portsmouth have not lost a home League game to the Cottagers since the 0-1 defeat in the Nationwide Division One on 12 February 2000.
- Biggest win of the season so far 3 goals - Sunderland 1-4 Portsmouth PL 29 Oct
- Biggest defeat of the season so far 4 goals - Arsenal 4-0 Portsmouth PL 28 Dec
- Have failed to score in 8 Premiership games.

Fulham are 15th with 20 points and their highest achievable position after Match Day 20 is 12th while the lowest could be realistically 16th.
- FULHAM FULHAM have been as inconsistent as Portsmouth in the last month. They've also managed four points from a possible 12, and have registered a win, a defeat and a draw from their last three. One point from the holiday fixtures is scant reward, having lost by the odd goal in five at near neighbours and runaway leaders Chelsea on Boxing Day, and shared six goals with Aston Villa on Wednesday night, when they surrendered the lead three times. But Chris Coleman will doubtless be expecting more from this trip to Fratton Park, and Monday's home game against the hapless Sunderland.
- The Cottagers have lost seven League games on the road and are yet to win away from home this season. Their only return from 10 Premiership trips has been a point each from visits to Newcastle (1-1), Charlton (1-1) and West Brom (0-0).
- Portsmouth are yet to score in the last 15 minutes of a top tier game this term, while Fulham have conceded 10 goals in the final 15 minutes - more than any other club.
- Chris Coleman's side scored six goals in total against Portsmouth in last season's two Premiership games, but won only one of them, the 3-1 home success.
- Fulham have never won a top-flight match at Fratton Park.
- The Cottagers have yet to win or draw any games this season after going behind.
- On their first half record Fulham would be second in the Premiership.
- Have won as many points from teams above them as those below them.
- Have conceded nearly half of their 28 goals in the last 15 minutes.
- Have gained 3 less points from teams played last year at the half way point.
- Brian McBRIDE is the only remaining player to have figured in at least part of every one of Fulham's Premiership matches this season.
- McBRIDE has scored two goals in three Premiership appearances for Fulham against Portsmouth.
- If he plays, Alain GOMA will be making his 150th appearance for the Cottagers.
