Borussia Dortmund have confirmed the signing of striker Jan Koller after the big Czech rejected a move to Fulham. "Koller has signed a four-year contract starting next season. Both clubs have agreed not to reveal the transfer amount," a spokeswoman said.

Settlement of the deal ends months of speculation about the 28 year old's future.

Although English first-division champions Fulham looked to have secured his signature at one stage, Koller had hinted strongly that he wanted to join Dortmund because they would be playing in next season's Champions' League.

Dortmund earlier pulled out of the race because they felt Anderlecht's £8 million valuation of the player was too high and it is now believed they have paid nearer £6.5 million for the forward.

Anderlecht general manger Michel Verschueren said this week: "We are close to an agreement with Dortmund as we know their offer and their financial possibilities.

"As there is already an agreement with Fulham, the ball is in the player's court. He will choose on Friday and we think he will opt for Dortmund."

Both Fulham and Dortmund offered Koller the same deal - a four-year contract worth £20,000 a week, but Fulham's non-participation in Europe proved decisive.

Koller joins his Czech Republic team-mate Tomas Rosicky at the German giants.
