Bookies say goodbye Sunderland, WBA and Hammers

last updated Monday 03rd February 2003, 12:21 PM
Glenn Roeder's West Ham have been cut from 5/6 to 8/11 to be playing Nationwide football next season by BlueSq after their latest home capitulation, to Liverpool on Sunday afternoon.

The Hammers were 2-0 down within ten minutes after some terrible defending allowed Milan Baros and Steven Gerrard to score.

Skybet had offered the East London side at odds-against before the weekend but they now go just 4/6 after Bolton's win against Birmingham on Saturday has left them four points adrift of safety.

The Trotters themselves are out to 8/13 with BlueSq but remain a stingy 4/9 for the drop with Skybet.

West Brom also won at the weekend, leapfrogging the Hammers, and have been cut into 1/5 - the same price as Sunderland who lost 3-1 against Charlton after conceding three own goals.

Skybet rate the Black Cats just 1/8 chances after their latest defeat left them marooned at the bottom of the table.

Birmingham's defeat makes them 9/4 fifth-favourites with Skybet, while Fulham remain 11/2 following their last-minute loss at Arsenal.
